If this comes off, somehow, then it will be the most high profile signing in SL history.
It is however a bit strange in GH coming out and announcing they're after him, we all know that is not his style.
Therefore is this just a bit of national media attention, which can only be good for the club, after knowing full well that he will not land him?

Tricky for Bath. Obviously they don't want to lose him so will be asking for a fee that could put others off. But if it's an unrealistic fee and that ends up being the reason Souths can't buy him then Burgess might get a bit pi**ed off with Bath for asking for such unrealistic money. |

Strong possibility of that I reckon.
Not sure how we could afford a realistic transfer fee, especially when it'd be most likely for a season only.
Say Bath wanted 800k. Could we pay say 200k of it and get him for a year and Souths 600k and get him afterwards when they can fit him in to their squad in 2017? Would that even be legal? |

I don't see why something like that couldn't be put together. |

I'm glad that he said getting him back in RL is the idea,even if not with us.
I'd love us to get him obviously but having him back and ready for the RLWC would be a big boost

I don't quite see how Bath can expect to get a higher transfer fee than they paid. Not sure that they have added value.... you could argue he is now damaged goods!
If Bath are asking a deliberate high fee to try and keep him that would be folly as if his heart is not longer in it he will be little use to Bath and they would be better using the funds to replace him elsewhere.
Much will depend on the terms of the original transfer, first option clauses etc.
The original transfer fee was reported as £500k
