I absolutely agree, as I have said since start of season. I was just commenting on the players from that list who would be an improvement.

Come on DISA. Gilmour is very good at one particular aspect of the game - running a wide channel, second or third man in. He isn't especially good in defence or at taking the ball up from first receiver, hence being moved out to centre.

Let them have Brett we'll have Brent.
He'd make an excellent replacement for Eastwood next season.
Time Eastwood was (with regret) cut adrift and Leeds got on with building a squad without him.

So while some top antipodeans get lined up Leeds don't know whether Eastwood's appeal has or will succeed or whether he will even exercise his option to come to Leeds if the appeal succeeds. Will he really opt to forego another two years at the Bulldogs who, incidentally, have been transformed into serious contenders this season.
Looks like Eastwood, who has never spent a minute over here since Leeds signed him (to my knowledge) having a ridiculous impact on Leeds' plans for 2010 and beyond.

| He who shall remain nameless...
...and follows the NRL closely, seems to think Eastwood is very unlikely to come to Leeds, based on his comments at the time of signing and since his 'temporary' stay in the NRL was arranged, and that the whole loan business was a smokescreen a la 'Its a sidewise move for Daryl Powell, he'll be back as Head Coach in 3 years' or 'Adrian Morley will definitely be coming back to Leeds', 'Iestyn will be coming back to the Rhinos' etc.

| All I can say is when I saw Eastwood being interviewed on Brisbane TV after signing for Leeds he seemed remarkably uninterested in the whole thing except for the money.
I too suspect that we won't see Eastwood in a Leeds shirt. Having said that, if he has an option to come, wants to, and is able to, then Leeds should honour the deal.
Given the choices available in Aus I'd be pushing very hard to get O'Meley. A far far better forward than Cyless ever was.

The deal was for 2009/2010/2011. Leeds should walk away from Eastwood now and get on with building a squad without him, IMO.
The uncertainty over his availability is getting in the way. Even a successful appeal outcome (unlikely as that is) won't alter the current situation.
A 50 minute interchange prop stint again yesterday with plenty of mistakes late on. Leeds can do so much better.

Gilmour is an exceptional player albeit slighly on the slide, however he is still considerably more damaging a runner than anything Leeds have in this area.

| Cant see the Broncos letting him go, they'd be light in the forwards if they did and they've already allowed Dave Taylor to join Souths for next year. Probably get a fine and stood down for a week or two.
Wouldn't mind him joining us but i cant see it.
