Fair point Chris but ATEOTD surely the way to start a rebuild would be to ditch the chaff first??

Depends (and I'm not saying this the case) if players are causing unrest for whatever reason or think they are bigger than the club then getting rid, however good, is the start of the rebuild.

Still, getting rid of our hooker after how much hassle we have had there in the last 3-4 years, our best metre making prop,a young utility back on a long deal and Cuthbo who seems to be our only attacking forward..even if he's been ineffective .

While keeping Walter's,Ablett,JJB..

Sinfield mentioned the mentality of the squad on a few occasions. Maybe that's behind some of the decisions too. The Golding one might be more 'you won't be first choice and we won't stand in your way if another club comes in for you. No doubt all sorts of discussions going on behind closed doora

To be fair, the complaints were about the older, injury prone players taking up spots. That doesn’t seem a focus at all.

Then two players who should have been near the top of any list, and don’t appear mentioned at all in Ferres and Sutcliffe. These players will never be to the level if a Parcell or Cuthbertson.

Managing the cap is difficult, but really, and it might be the case and reports wrong, but every first team player but for Watkins, Walker, and Parcell, should have been the ones available to move, and that would have had more logic.

Don’t get me wrong, personally I would be a bit gutted to lose Parcell, cuthbertson and Garbutt, but if they have been told they can go it’s obviously for ither reasons rather than on field issues IMO

None of Parcell, Garbett & Cuthbo will be on small money. Which SL clubs could squeeze them in? Be surprised if we moved more than one of em on, unless they went back to Aus.

I have to agree with many on here, from the outside looking in letting Garbutt and Parcell go would seem crazy considering Ferres’ performances over 3 years and efforts from Sutcliffe, Ablett and Cuthbo being well short of what’s needed, and a special mention for Stevie Ward! You can be the best player in the world but if you spend more time in the treatment room than on the field you are dead wood and a waste of cap space.
