| Didn’t watch the game thankfully but from what I’ve read and Agars interview I missed a woeful effort. He’s seething.
Season nearly over imo if we lose to hudds next week

| Obviously an over reaction to be calling for Agars head, but some of the coaching decisions last night were not good enough.
We have a talented young kid who’s done well standing in at FB and we have two wingers that are just not good enough.
Our best winger (and one of the best in SL) comes back from injury and we play him at FB and put Broadbent on the bench!!!
And I’ve said it before, but Martin needs a rest. He’s clearly not fit and carrying effects of Covid.
Again, we have a talented back row who has played well and he gets dropped.
If Martin is about goal kicking, then it’s irrelevant if you don’t look like scoring tries!!!
What message are we sending to Walters and Broadbent?

| Does this make sense to anyone or not??? Cos I cant understand why it never happens.
If our aim on the last when we are attacking is to not kick it in fear of it going dead and giving a tap 20 7 tackle set to our opponents then rather than taking a tackle and handing it over for a 6 tackle set why not play the ball and the hooker instead of picking it up just kicks it 5 yards sidewards . I guarantee the opposition will dive on it and its then tackle 1 where we would normally hand it over anyway.
The normal tackle 1 would then be tackle 2 etc and the opposition should then be kicking on their last further back than they are now.
If the plan is to make opponents bring it away from their own line give them less tackles to do it and mount pressure that way.

Unconventional but good point and better than what they're currently 'attempting'

Can't see us getting a result against Hudds. Going to be freaky hard to turn that shambles around in a week....
Must be really unfit squad to be 'tired' this Earthy into season.

| Had a feeling we'd go with Handley at fullback so while its a poor call imo, it wasnt suprising, long term, i do worry what our coaching team are seeing in Handley to think he's an option there.
What i was more interested in seeing last night, was which one of Broadbent or Suttcliffe started at Centre, that selection was the more dissapointing one to me, Broadbents so much better than Suttcliffe at centre.

| Jack is still young, a week on bench here, a week out there will benefit him long term. Playing every week will harm him long term. Same, and probably even more so with Walters.
Got to gradual with these kids.

| Jacks not going to get a look in when L Suttcliffe and Newman return, dont think too much rugbys going to be an issue. I believe the selection last night was just a case of where they currently stand in the pecking order in the coaches eyes.

Thats true if there are quality players ahead of these lads. But simply not true for our team.....

| The other issue is there’s no reserve grade rugby or duel reg so there’s going to be large parts of the year where game time is going to be hard to come by, not great for development

Absolutely. Plus
One of their players stick out an arm or leg and you get the ball back, they knock on , they lose control and push ball to their try line and maybe you force a drop out
or god forbid someone backs up and you may SCORE.

Mate im literally just saying tap it 5 yards n let them drop on it. Dont see point of running in and taking the tackle and handing it over as we are. May as well make them use a tackle rather than handing it over.
Both are negative plays by the way.

| Last night was awful to watch and a game to forget. Just hope it was a one off and look forward to a much better performance next week.
I can't get mad after a single game, fingers crossed last night's shambles doesn't turn into a trend

| Also on a positive note I thought Mellor was much better last night than he has shown so far, under the circumstances at least. Put some great hits in and seemed solid moving forward too. Hard to find many more positives from that game
