30+ games is a lot to ask of a young player

Assuming Furner is coming, he'll have strong views re halfbacks. Whilst our pack was beaten too often, we all know how lack of a genuine playmaker can kill you, especially in tight games. I wouldn't have a problem if Lolohea was earmarked for the halves, but IMO he's a ball-playing full back, not a genuine halfback. Whilst it might upset some people, I wouldn't be upset or surprised if Furner took the view that Myler-Lolohea wimple won't work.

As for Walker, we have enough competition for him - and McClelland - to have to fight for a spot and make the coach pick him. If he's good enough he'll get picked.

Now that the coach debacle is over we can get back to player rumours. One Aussie journo believes the Taupau link is being kept under wraps until we recieve a reply. So sounds like weve made an approach/offer/enquiry. This excites me greatly. Taupau is an animal on his day.

Well to be fair it is based on newspaper reports, and by the reporter most close to the club. However, all he actually says is, "it is understood", he doesn't say they have definitely been told they can leave, which does imply some degree of guesswork.

Reading his interview with Sinfield, I'd say the names were accurate. I feel sorry for Golding, thought he played well at times behind a beaten pack last season, and he has talent and commitment. It's probably right he moves on but we should remember that players are real people and not just assets.
