The answer is to invest in better quality players, and promote the juniors to give the club another Golden Generation, but under an appropriate coaching and conditioning team.'"
I agree and I think the management do as well, thing is it was always going to take some time and patience, the appointment of Furner has put us back about 6 months or more though, then add covid and the unforced break into the mix.

The continuance with McDermott put us back a number of years. The appointment of Furner we lost six months. Now we have lost another year with a continuance of the same mistakes. Mistakes we were not previously making.

I liked Luke Briscoe in the back row best.

| it was hard to understand what was happening yesterday, Candidly the youngsters played well, and to try and put blame on the youngsters is way off the mark. One person summed this up, if you want to try and win trophies you do not have Agar as your head coach. We have had two starts to the season both times we was not ready, the experienced players are not fit enough and are not being coached. Originally we were told he is a short term fix, now he is head coach on a rolling contract, what does that tell you about the club. Our conditioners are not fit for purpose, too many injuries and we are becoming a charitable cause for players. Ward and Crosby, both excellent players when fit, problem is they are never fit, its time they were off the payroll and retired.
We have been in transition for 3/4 years, we are the only team who have replaced the players who have come in as replacements, now we are looking to replace them again. How long is this transition going to last. Great believer in the giving the kids a go, and not only two / three games, but we cannot simply throw in the kids that form over half the team, we need some experience. Last night we had 15 errors, mostly by experienced players. Ava was not included yet he looks to be our biggest prop, but nothing has been said.
We could have and should have won the game last night, unfortunately when attacking we had no idea in their half. The team need a top high quality coach, we have Agar.

| Anyone know what was up with Ava? Was he just dropped? I find that a confusing one given our injuries even if he didn’t play well against Saints

RE Ward and Crosby - What more do you want us to do with Ward? we haven't offered him a new contract and we are quite rightly taking care of one of our players?
Crosby, its been really unfortunate but if he isn't playing I'm sure he'll be exempt from the Cap,Agar and the rolling contract, well that to me shows they don't think he's the long term answer, a rolling contract benefits bot parties here, had we given him a fixed 3 year contract or something that would have signalled they think he's the man for the job on a longer term.

He looked knackered and unfit against Saints and was dropped for a youngster in Holroyd, isn't that what this forum has been crying out for the club to do?

| To say we'd have won the game with Walker is simply untrue. Wigan had another couple of gears to go if necessary. Also to compliment McLelland for taking on the line is ridiculous. He couldn't trick a dog in the park.

| Myler or Walker at full back would certainly improve the attack, but while they are both missing I'm not sure who we have got available who can improve that part of our game. Newman is a great threat ball in hand, but I have not seen a great passing game from him, although I have not seen him as much as some on here.
Handley is doing well bringing the ball back but he doesn't possess a great passing game.
On another note the foot in touch from Briscoe should never have been an issue. He appeared to have enough room to score without going near touch. He is still finding his way back after a long term injury and I thought he did ok with his Carrys but he wouldn't have been happy with himself if the try was chalked off.

| The "Transition" has been taking longer than it should have. I think Sinny said when he came it would be a 3 year job.As a rule of thumb I would give the Aussie imports a years grace to bed in,what with a new culture and environment so I definitely think younger squad members need to be cut some slack. Oledzki,Mclelland,Holroyd etc cannot flourish behind a toothless pack. We won't see the best of these until we acquire a pair of mongrel props with the possible addition of a top winger/ utility back.Where are the forwards in the tackle busts league table?Since there us no relagation we should be looking to give Sam Walters and others match time experience. We seem t be struggling with the new format of super League,so I would like to see a younger athletic squad. Maybe Covid 19's second wave will kill off the season and give the management some more breathing space to fix things up. Perhaps a new Edgar Curtis would be beneficial.
