Yeah not a bad shout. I rate Powell very highly but for me Wane is the best British coach. We need to get a move on to allow whoever it is time to turn things around before it's too late.

| Negotiations may be going on behind the scenes ,any new coach will want guarantees about breaking up this squad and the kind of quality to be signed. No quick fix statements will do now the situation is desperate

Agree. If we keep chopping and changing we won’t get a grip of the culture. Would be risky but maybe a Demetriou... if I was a coach approached by Leeds I would want a lot of assurances after seeing what happened to Furner.

| I'm as anti Shaun Wane as anyone... I hated him at Wigan...but that might be because he gave his players a determination not to be beaten.....at all costs!! But he doesn't take any crap, and he would toughen the defence up a treat!! We can score tries at the moment, but can't defend for toffee!
I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Coaches are responsible for systems but Leeds are just not physical enough. We have experienced players with poor technique and junior players lacking in strength.
I don’t think changing the coach is going to paper over these cracks. This squad needs another overhaul, and time.

| It’s like people have no memory at all. Wane took years to put in place what he did at Wigan, starting lower in the coaching order, and working off Maguire did, then developing. There was no short term magic done. He went for decent money in union, and is already not succeeding, hence the desire to return.

Precisely ^^^^^
IF the rumours doing the rounds are true about Furner trying to rip everything up and starting afresh with his new ideas are true and that the players didn’t like/couldn’t cope with it are true, then what makes people think our current squad are going to be able to suddenly accept and cope with the demands Wane would put on them? They currently simply don’t have the appetite for the defensive demands Wane would want to introduce and like you say there is NO way our squad are going to be able to pick this up quickly.
Also people seem to have forgot about his time here as a player when he later admitted he had no desire to be here and his heart was never in it as he was simply Wigan through and through. I just don’t see him coaching here and if the players were shocked at Funer’s methods they would poop themselves at the demands Wane would expect of them

| Next appointment has to be given 3yrs minimum and FULLY BACKED im hoping we get Flannagan or Griffin or as an outside bet Tony SMITH but it needs sorting asap.
This !00% backing Agar drivel is doing us no favours either.

| What do we do? If the players are going to sulk and moan about anybody trying to change what needs changing, who do we hire? Somebody whos going to let them carry on the way they are? Mayswel keep Agar and continue to be garbage.
Any coach worth his salt is going to give this lot a kick up the backside because a good coach will see that its needed, if they didnt like it under Furner and if they wouldnt like it under Wane, theyr not going to like it under Flanagan, Demitriu, Powell, Marshall, Ford, Griffin or any other decent coach in the world.

| Andrew johns made similar comments re the Panthers - its up to the players. In their game vs the Warriors he said they lost every collision and a really telling sign was that in almost every tackle they made one or more of their players was left on the ground as the ball was played. He reckoned that was a sure sign of lack of effort. Sounds remarkably similar to our efforts in recent times. .

Yeah, I like the way the guy sets up his side to play. Seems able to overcome a fair bit of adversity whereas Powell apparently cannot. Wane would be a gamble in so far as if he didn't turn things around in 10mins - and there's no precedent to say he would - then Headingley would be like a morgue. Smith would be given a bit more latitude in terms of getting things right on account of what he did for us in the past while an Australian of decent pedigree would be shown a bit of patience too.
