| We need to make a statement of intent. I’d go for George Burgess now, with a back end loaded 4 year contract if necessary.
He’d be a good complement to our pack and would be around for a good number of years to help develop the younger props.

For me Oledzski and Peteru have been two highlights of the poor year so far. George would fit the bill; problem is that he can also be rocks and diamonds, and consistency of performance is already an issue. Between him and Hurrell you’re probably guaranteed to drop the ball 6 times every game.
I do think we need some real quality in that front row: a first choice starting prop while Oledzski, Holroyd, Dupree come through.
I like the idea of Burgess, Oledzski and Holroyd piling in for 2020, that combo would cause most sides big problems.
We have a decision to make at hooker too because I really rate Johnson coming through, he is class.

| George Burgess??? Can't see him queuing up to join Leeds anytime soon. Why the hell would he leave his well paid life in Australia to come and join us. Let's start getting real.

| He’s a Leeds fan and has already said he’d love to play for the club.

He's so much of a fan he walked out on Leeds to sign for Bradford.
He was asked in an interview while at Headingley if he would consider in the future signing for Leeds of course he said yes. If it had happened at Wigan, Saints, Warrington he would have said yes to if he would consider joining them in the future.

| He signed for Bradford because Leeds wouldn't sign Tom, and only wanted him at the time. John Bastian's biggest mistake.

| Don't worry about us getting rid of some players at the end of the year.
Continue playing like we have and players will be jumping ship as we head for relegation.
As it stands we would not beat Wigan or Huddersfield who are down there with us.
So we have to hope teams like London, HKR and Salford implode whilst we put a run of victories together.
Possible? yes. Probable? Not sure.

I would never ever have thought in my lifetime that i would hear a Rhinos fan say this.
Look, I am not a wind up merchant, just a very simple question.
Was the sacking of Brian McDermott a contributing factor to this? If not, What was the ground zero?
I am just worried that another fine RL foundation club could be pi55ed to the wall, and after Bradfords fall from grace, can the game take another one with the Rhinos being dropped out of the premier competition?

its nice to see you and wigan sweat a bit but yes as the game goes it would be a massive loss to the game

| I suggest that there is something very wrong in the Rhinos camp at the moment. However I believe that at some point in time, not to far down the road, an effective remedial plan will be put in place. This belief is not based on blind faith, but on the beiief that Leeds Rugby as a business will not want to contemplate spending even a year out of Superleague. A huge investment has been made in the ground and the associated financal costs can not be bourne playing 2nd tier rugby. It therefore makes sense to invest in strengthening the Playing squad. Don't get me wrong, I think this will be another year to forget for Rhinos fans, but those in charge will find a way to avoid relegation.
P.S. I have no idea what the remedial action will be. I'll leave others to speculate on that.

I think theres something wrong in the camp also. I think the players haven't taken to Furner coupled with many being made available in the offseason.
We have to make a dip into the market sharpish imo to give us a boost and toughen us up. The squad should be good enough however to make mid table ish and that is down to Furner.

| We seemed to make some strange substitutions in the last 5-10 mins which i think favored London. Peteru & Oledzki -> JJB & Donaldson. We seemed to lose all go forward at this point and had no real presence in defense allowing London to get back into the game. Peteru was having the best game in a Leeds shirt and we took him off with 5 mins to go which i couldn't understand.
Still lacking any direction around the pitch and missing a leader in the pack. Will be interesting to see how we fair up against Catalans pack next week, although i can only see one winner

| I think the camp was badly spooked by the attitude of having players who though, not necessarily "ripping it up" had been putting effort in and were summarily told to feck off. Think they badly misjudged the closeness of the players with that, this has led to a collapse in morale.
What was the point in "giving people a clean slate" while not even bothering to give them a chance? Granted, they were no world beaters but surly they could've done just as good a job as some of the waning favourites have done / are doing?
