| Pleased to see Dupree will be training with the first team nxt season, exited by a potential prop rotation including Oledzki, Dupree and Holroyd a few years down the road, cant teach the size and athletethism them 3 have.
Think Whiteley will have a decent career, he's a good player, but Johnsons another level and Oli Burton, who's coming up from the 16's, is a very good prospect at hooker, so can see why whiteley was let go.
The signing of McCllelland pretty much guaranteed Chapman-Smith wouldnt be kept on, its all about keeping injurey free for him, good player with a lot of potential if he can stay fit.
Didnt rate Barrouclough atall,Cam Smith and Owen Trout are much better players and think Brad Martin, going into his second year, and Lewis Delaney, coming up from the 16's, are much better prospects aswel, so not suprised by him being let go.
Imo the club seem to be making the right decisions at this level, which is good to see.

| After the season we’ve had at least with Oledzki, Dupree, Holroyd, Mustapha, Johnson, Newman and Walker we have some class young kids coming through. I’d be surprised if Whiteley isn’t picked up by a Championship club, seems a decent hooker from what i’ve seen.

How would you rate Dupree, Holroyd, Mustapha and Spencer Darley comparatively (and as long-term prospects). Asking as a Fev fan and we will obviously see Darley next year but possibly also some of the other three. From what I've seen Holroyd is probably the best long-term prospect but only seen flashes of them all.
Also do you think Whiteley is up to Championship standard at this early stage of his career? Glaring gap at that position for Fev after losing Wildie and Carlile, unless Johnson is likely to be available regularly on DR, which I can't see.

It works for them, and works for us, and most of their fans have warmed to it now. Still think reserves are better but cannot see that coming back anytime soon.

| Most Fev fans are actually against the concept of DR, but accept that, given it's permissible in the rules, it's probably pragmatic to make good use of it. Think it's fair to say that both Leeds and Fev have consistently said that they work very well together and have a good understanding, which can't be said for most DR partnerships, and the arrangement has probably benefitted both parties, which also can't be said for plenty of other partnerships.

Yeah imo Holroyds the best of that group, he's the best prop prospect iv seen in the whole country for many years, he's the youngest of that group, just finished his first year in the 19's.
Dupree and Darley are different kinds of players, Dupree is the definition of an impact prop, comes off the bench, makes lots of meters, bursts tackles and scores his fair share of trys. Darley is more of a big minutes, hardworking player who gives everything he's got, by all accounts the hardest working player in our academy, he's built himself up to a good size aswel, he's deffinatly going in the right direction, he improved a lot this last season. Im very high on Dupree and would say he's the better prospect of the two, like i said on the previous post, you cant teach the natural size and athletethism Dupree has.
Mustapha is fun to watch, loves the physical side and is never far away from a card of either colour, he can play anywhere in the backrow or prop, think he's going to be a cracking player.
Think Whiteleys a good player, id be suprised if he dosnt end up a superleague player further on in his career, think he could do a decent job in a hooker rotation in the championship nxt season, quite suprised he hasnt found a club yet

| 8 Leeds lads in the Yorkshire academy squad to take on the Aussies.
Tyler Dupree, Tom Holroyd, Owen Trout, Muizz Mustapha, Corey Johnson, Louis McConnell, Jack Broadbent and Callum McCllellend. Does anybody know why Harry Newman isnt in the squad? Id of thought he would of been the first player wrote down.

I dunno but those are 9 cracking players coming through - and in some key positions we’ve struggled in for a while. Honestly think the future looks bright if we manage the squad well over the next few years. Having a Marty Taupau would be awesome, but you can never beat having a team full of local-ish lads who have grown up together.

| Looks like Fax have announced the loan signing of Chapman-Smith, sounds like he has a lot of talent but needs some luck with injuries? How you guys rate him?

Is the rule that you can’t have made more than X first team appearances? Something along those lines. Must be something like that.

Not sure to be honest, like you say, there must be a reason other than ability, because on ability he'd be a shoe in. The only thing i could think of was that theyr saving him for the actual England games as they know he's a nailed on starter in the tests, but thats just a guess. Craig Harrison said on his talkshow that Leeds were reluctant to let McClelland play in thesese games, maybe we'v taken a similar approach with Harry. Hope we havnt, would love to see how he goes for England against the Aussies.
On a side note, how much talent have we got at the club at the min. Taking the Smith, Oledzki, Walker and Suttcliffe age group as the start point and going down to the recently signed 16's.....Theres about 20 players between them 4 age groups that im genuinely exited about, the clubs in a great place going forward.
