No such actual activity is required for jerking knees to start hitting tables in RL land. This flap happens on message boards every time a player is linked with a move to RU. I mean, when Walker and Ashton left Doomsday was upon us. There is, in fact, a disturbing parallel between this mind set and the "21st December 2102" thread...

Every player has a price and GH will decide what Lee Smiths price is to Leeds, We can all remember the same outcry when we "lost" Walker, Mathers, Scrutton etc.
Its no big deal players move, get over it (if it happens). |

Maybe it could have the opposite effect of that predicted by the gloom merchants.
Any young rugby ambitious player who likes to have the ball in hand should seek out his nearest league club. If he's any good and breaks through into a SL team he'll immedialtely be in the shop window for all RU teams.
Bingo!! RL is in a win win situation. Some will stay some will go but just imagine the impact in Wales, London and even France, players beating a path to our door to be fast tracked into RU.
How ironic is that?

Harris situation a mess? is that what ive just read??
Best bit of business/management GH has ever done, Harris left, we got a huge transfer fee, the team that then assembled in the years to follow has been a very very successful one, Sinfield has been a better captain than harris was for Leeds and also Mcguire has been a better standoff and will be for the future.
Yes a right royal mess that was!

I don't want to take everyone's attention away from the mass exodus of players to Union or even G1's impending nervous breakdown.... but there's a little typo there and the fateful day is actually in 2012 not 2102....

Erm.......Lee Smith and erm.....Lee Smith this year.
Chris Ashton, Chev Walker, Iestyn Harris, Stephen Myler in other years although how far back do we go. Harris was ages ago. Walker nearly 4 years.
Cant think of anymore off the top of my head but there arent all that many. Certainly not enough for the massive over reaction on here. |
