If the RFL don't like use of the head, why didn't Monaghan get a masisve suspension for what he did to Sinfield in the GF a few years back? That was one of the most cynically dangerous fouls I've seen, with far more force than the average headbutt, yet nothing seemed to come of it.

I think the RFL will give him 2/3 games I actually think he expected Dorn to come into him as well in a head shoving confrontation but Dorn held his ground.

I've not seen the incident so can't comment. But when I heard about it my 1st thought was he'll get 2 matches with the RFL saying it would be 3 but 'good record,heat of the moment, no real damage to other player, red card given during game etc etc etc etc.

He'll get 2 games reduced to 1 if the EGP is available (I'm not sure it is an option for anything over grade B).

Don't you just love all the amateur judges,barristers,insolvancy experts on these forums.

4-6 game ban sounds excessive when you consider the EGP and an impeccable disciplinary record dating back to the start of his professional career.

I'm sorry. Did we just compare the Sinfield offence to murder? If we could all just retain a tad of reality, that would be great.

Oh and, those convicted of 'assault' if you could even compare the Sinfield offence to that, definitely do get a lighter sentence for first offence. Especially considering there was literally no damage to the 'victim'.

I liked Luke Dorns comments after the game. was a gent about it. he wasnt bothered "i gets heated on the pitch"... 2 games minus EGP for me.

I don't remember all this outrage when Welham headbutted a player and got no ban or fine.

...and this is why the use of internet forums should be licensed. If you did ANY of the things that happen on a Rugby pitch in normal day-to-day life you'd be banged up for some time. Picking someone up and slamming them to the ground happens hundreds of times in a game - you go try doing it outside Tesco on a Saturday afternoon and see how long it is before you're in a 8"x 6" room with bars on the windows and a cell mate called Psycho Steve.

Comparing and governed, profession sport to what happens in the real word is just plain stupid.

He's had nearly 20 years clean record.

When it's all over, i'll be surprised if he ends up with more than 2 games.
