It's closed and been sold. Boarded up and looked like there were some surveyors outside it last week.
Back to the original poster Armley's not terrible but it's no leafy suburb. You do get the odd group of youths hanging around now and then but they're no bother. I've been living there for 6 years and had little trouble in that time.
It's handy for town with plenty of buses, has the usual shops/amenities/pubs on town street, a leisure centre (they're halfway through building a new one next door) and a golf course.
If you've go the money to live elsewhere then I would reccomend doing so, depending on your budget, what you're looking for and how far you want to travel then Farsley, Rodley or Calverley may be worth looking into.

Tbh with regards to the OP i would recommend he does listen to Mr Emmerson, what he lacks in timekeeping he more than makes up in usefull tidbits.

Yeah I had a look round the areas on Google street view and saw that there is a decent enough 'high street' in the area plus loads of buses to get into the city. Any idea on when the new leisure centre will be finished?
Thanks again!

As someone who worked in Seacroft for ten years, the area is no better or worse than a lot of other urban areas of Leeds such as those to the west or south of the city.'"
When I was 4 our family GP managed to make up some bollox about me being allergic to central heating to get us moved out of Seacroft - to Gipton. Read into that what you will.

| Quote Super Benny Westwood="Super Benny Westwood"Hey!
I am starting a job in Leeds in the next couple of months and so am looking to rent within a few miles of the city centre. I'm currently looking in Armley - any good or bad points about this area, or can anyone recommend other areas I could be looking? I'll be renting a 2 bed flat.
Cheers in advance!'"
If you are a refugee from eastern europe or a single mother aged between 14 + 18, with a very basic knowledge of the english language apart from a huge glossary of four letter words used to impress your kids and others in shops, banks and the high street you will mix in well.

It's not a cracking area and like most inner city areas it has the odd problem. What the Lord fella said isn't too far from the truth though I've not heard that much foul language.
