| Knavesmire - I'd say the one sentence reason is simply that the coach has lost the squad. If everyone was really pulling together and backing each other fully we'd be significantly better.

We have one proven good quality coach at the club, Mark Butterill. I have no clue if he would even be interested in the first team role, or if he could stand in. The remaining coaches are consistently proving themselves to be next to useless.

Might aswell give Mark a crack for the rest of the season, he can’t do any worse.

| Quote: The Eagle "What annoys me is how bad the halfbacks have been. Our kicking game has been worse than last season when we had no halves. The kicks from sezer when we had 12 men on was shocking. I can understand why were down in the middle, and though we should have strengthened, we needed to find the right player, but the halves have stunk the place out almost every game'"
Sorry to say but I’m laughing my head off at this. When sezer came to giants he was very very good. We thought at last we might start to improve as a side. Unfortunately When Watson joined Sezer didnt seem to like that Watson wanted a TEAM game and for everyone and no one to shine and his marquee status didn’t mean anything on the field. He didn’t want to play how the coach wanted him to. When he wanted out he stopped playing and his performances went from great to shocking. The away game at Wakefield being of particular note where he was absolutely dreadful. He was clearly looking for a way out and that’s when rumours started of him going to Leeds.
He then sat in our stand whilst injured and in front of supporters who heard every word basically trashed the club and said he was glad to be going to a “bigger and better club”
He didn’t play for us again, and many questioned that decision but Watson is being proved right. Sezer plays when sezer wants to. Right now he clearly doesn’t want to. I just hope you’re not paying him what we were.

| Mark has done a good job but theres a world of difference from coaching 15/16 year olds and coaching 1st grade. He usually has the best juniors in the area against much weaker even less funded teams.
Come on guys.

Agreed that Mark stepping up to first team would be a stretch
But to give him a bit more credit...Them same best juniors in scholorship then start struggling against them same weaker teams when they move up to Walker in the Academy. Marks an exceptional junior coach.

| Confidence looks low now.
We have little, zip, sharpness in attack, and little strike/threat with no Newman or replacement for Konnie.
The only try we made came off a fairly desperate Donaldson off-load but it meant we had a rare piece of 2nd phase play.
Laffai of Salford did 2 excellent late offloads, we do hardly any.
Thought Broadbent did quite well against him, he has a bit of class.
We also have little pace.
Line speed and contact in defence is often poor.
I see little leadership, nobody saying anything behind the posts.
It’s a very bad mix.
It looks to me that our halves literally are not speaking to each other. This needs fixing.
To start last night we had Mik, Kruise and Zane v ormandroyd, Ackers and Gerrard but we did not dominate.
Other teams are running harder in attack and defence.
We have now fully succumbed to the goal of the salary cap we have precious little class.
To try and find positives thought Jack Walker was very good and we left with a minute to go and missed most of the traffic and even better parked at the little airport and did not pay.
There looks to be a big man management job for rest of the season to get the spirit and togetherness right.
I don’t know what The answer is but it’s not Ellery or Butterill.

My post was purely to demonstrate that a vast majority of our coaches are frankly not decent coaches. I don’t know Mark, I’ve no idea what his ambitions are, but I know he regularly develops our kids into quality younger players. I have no clue if he could stand in for the Head Coach role until a new permanent one is found. One thing I am sure of is that he would be the only option I’d consider to stand in from Our current coaches, the rest need to leave with Agar.

Brown hasn't played a single game with Austin, he tore his achilles at the start of austins first season then was out of contract

| Quote: christopher "Yes we’ll never know but Furner had us playing turgid stuff, we were looking like relegation material, he was terrible for us.'"
A bit like now then - the squad Furner inherited was significantly inferior to what Agar is coaching. Furner was correct the squad needed a clear out sadly the likes of Sutcliffe, Briscoe, Dwyer etc are still getting picked every week.
I genuinely think it is time the club broke away from the influence of the golden generation - they were great servants to the club but it is time the club moved on.

The signs where there after Wigan game.
Pull the trigger now, find the right coach and start to rebuild for next year. Season well and truly over.'"
The club have no viable options - Agar will remain in place until the end of the season - maybe he will be in charge next season too.

JJB with his coaching CV i.e. Stanningley open age is hardly a viable option.
