If Handley has fancied himself at FB, surely during a game / training / getting changed / heading to their cars / having a coffee at some point, someone (I'd be looking at someone who seems fairly 'straight' and who says things as they are) would say something like "Ash, I get the FB thing and wanting to be more directly involved and creating things more than just finishing them... But, you are 27 now and have been getting selected at wing for years, where people are positive and complimentary about your efforts and skills over the years. Can you, hand on heart, say you have played better the last 6 weeks at FB as you were typically playing on the wing...?"
I'd be doing it, if I had a colleague on my team whose role change was meaning me and everyone else having to pick up extra slack to cover their inadequacies. Especially if the role they were doing before was one actually, they were decent and reliable in. They must be around each other 4-5 hours a day, 5 times a week, and no-one at any point has said such a thing to him..?
There is a clear lack of leadership in the group. I could only imagine someone like Donaldson or Cam Smith being the type to maybe say something like that. Myler might have been more likely in the past, but seems to have regressed and stepped back from doing that since his marriage ended.'"
now this is an outside view looking in, but could anyone there actually say that with a straight face considering you've got 30 something ex halfback richie myler filling in at fb ? like agar filled in as temp coach? |

Myler is one of our better performers and the last in any firing line. Hes also much better as a FB where as its not suited Handley.

Agree. He is one of our better performers week in week out. Sadly, that says a lot about the genuine dearth of quality at the club. He wouldn't be picked as a full back at Saints, Wigan, Wire or Catalans and he'd be nowhere near the halves. |

The heart and brain are there fir the most part. Just age catching up with him and tbh we need top class in the majority of spine positions.
O'C and Smith are doing well and time is on their side.
Austin and Sezar have been poor ,a few halves aside.
Myler has done well enough at FB.
That's still a poor spine compared to the top 3-4 teams

Myler is the best of the 1,6 7 at full back, but has flaws in some parts of his game compared to the best. His passing is excellent but running out of defence is weak and he's not a great defender. Austin can be very good, but just as often not, and Sezer could be good but just seems to only have a crack every now and then. Its hard to imagine a less inspiring set actually. Not one of them is a player I'd go out of my way to watch.

Just how I see it too, if they didn’t already play for Leeds, we wouldn’t be looking to sign them. |
