| I'd love us to win this and then go on the do the double. This team hasn't received the respect it deserves for the last 10 years. When Wigan the GF in 2010, the media made out like they were going to dominate the game. Then again last year when they do the double. We all acknowledge that this team is coming to the end, and it would be great to see them clean up. Actually, the best scenario, win the CC, win our remaining league games and finish top, win the GF, and do it all again next year before we see the retirements start. Stuff it, after seeing us lose 8 cup finals, we deserve it.

If the players rely on that train of thought we won't win it.
We deserve it if we do the job on the day.
The past failures in this final, are a monkey on our back. But if we stick to a coherent game plan (a la Wire semi), and all players contribute, that's the best chance we have.

Exactly. Stick to the game plan which means attacking defensive play with fast line speed, complete the sets, good kick chase for field position, keep our discipline. If we can do this our creative players and powerful backs will get the opportunities to score.
We also need our forwards to defend well around the ruck and try for quick PTBs

| Over the years we have usually been able to see wether Leeds are going to play well in the first 10 minutes or so.We do need to get off to a good start and unsettle Cas.I don't have a funny feeling I'm used to post CC final blues what will be will be.

It was fun though when the ordinary Wigan team didn't dominate after their lot told us 3 in a row ? Watch us now

| I remember Jon Wilkin using a phrase (on the back of consecutive Grand Final defeats to Leeds) saying they felt that is was their turn to win a Grand Final.
Look how that worked out for them.......

Of course all those consecutive grand final defeats is a very sobering thought.I just hope this holy grail for the golden generation ,now or never doesn't get to the players

| That's one I thing I've noticed this week when journalists have asked them about this "Challenge Cup hoodoo", a couple of the guys have simply put it as we haven't won it because we haven't performed well enough on the day to win it.
Heard no excuses of bad luck, or hoodoo or must be our year from them. They sound like they know they'll only win by putting in a good performance, not because the odds say we must be due one
Got to say over the last few years the CC week has felt very different to the GF week. GF week has for a while now seemed to have a controlled confidence in the build up whereas the CC week just didn't feel the same in terms of what the result might be....but this year feels different, it feels like a GF week.

| I don't think our record in finals has much to do with luck. Finals are about doing what you have to do to win, and we haven't done enough in those games. 2003 was a very even match, I didn't really think we deserved a lot out of the others.
I'm expecting a big performance from Cas tomorrow. Similar to Hull in 05. Good team, on the up but without a trophy in a long while, roared on by a huge, excitable crowd.
I guess our players' big game experience makes us favourites in some people's eyes, but the league table doesn't really offer much support to that. Cas have probably been in the better form in recent weeks.
Too close to call for me. I think the team that wins will just be the one that executes the game plan slightly better and maybe just has a little bit of luck.
I just hope it's us this time.

| Think what most has to be different this year is the defence. In those three recent finals at Wembley we've shipped 30, 28 and 35 respectively, that isn't going to win you a final and has been the key contrast to the GF displays.

| In the wire games our performance was poor, not much between the teams in the Wigan game. I remember we had a couple of ref decisions went against us.
As El Diablo quite rightly comments, too close to call. I would have preferred the bookies not to give Cas eight points start. They will have enough motivation with out being declared the underdog .
As in all big matches I hope the game is not decided one way or the other by a dumbass ref decision . That also includes the video officials. I have a slight concern with Bentham who sometimes likes to showboat .
Anyway let battle commence as one of my old team captains stated ,winners can smile and losers can please themselves .

| Time to get the monkey of the back. It will be close but think we are too focused this year and will edge it by a couple of scores
