I assume you also have a page for returning to winter rugby also?

I think the new plans look awesome and am happy with the proposal for seats at the top of the south stand.

Best of both worlds. Keeps standing terrace for those traditionalists and brings the stand and stadium in general (bar the western terrace) right upto the 21st Century in terms of comfort, facilities etc

For over 25 years I stood crammed in the centre of the South Stand but there came a point when I got older that I wanted more comfort and a better view and given one of my group who is older than me, it got to the stage where standing for so long (given you had to get to the game well over an hour and half before kick off to guarantee getting into the middle) became quite an ordeal so we moved to seats.

Did I miss the craic, yes possibly. Did I miss people jumping up and down showering everyone around them with beer when we scored a try. Not when I got past my early 20's. Did it spoil my enjoyment of the game...definitely not.

Given how many fans seem up in arms over this proposal, just imagine if the club had announced the South Stand was going to be ALL seater...it would have broken the Internet icon_lol.gif

Time to bring the stadium into the present.

No wonder other fans call us whinos. Never happy.

I can't remember when sitting at the back of the room / bus seats really stopped being important to me....

That's age for ya!

In all seriousness, times change, times and tastes moves on. Either we move with the times or we are buried with it. I'm just amazed that we are not expanding capacity. But, hey ho.

When people say "Times change, move on" etc - How so? How far do you take it? Why haven't Warrington "moved with the times" as some put it...that terrace of there's is fantastic I thought we when was in it for the Semi-Final.
They moved in to a modern stadium and managed to keep the terrace so why can't we?

I even saw someone on Social Media yesterday mention that it would be a Health & Safety issue if we had the South Stand as one big Terrace, sorry what?!

Warrington have ample seating for their fans.

If we are reducing the North Stand capacity then we have to offer seating elsewhere.

There is a still a huge standing terrace on the new southstand, I really think some people are just kicking up a fuss over nothing.

Plenty of terracing will remain. Sad to see her go, but it needs to happen. I really cant see a problem.

The season starts in Feb and finishes in October. Frankly we would probably have better overall weather if we started in September and finished in May.

Because Warrington didn't lose 1,300 seats from one side of the ground that they had to replace.

In fact I'd hazard a guess that the HJ has more seats than Wilderspool used to, given the main stand there had terracing in front of it.

And there still is a terrace in the South Stand. It's just about 20% smaller than the existing one. So what's the problem again?

I dont see the logic in this. Those that want to Stand in the south stand, can stand. Who is bothered that there are some seats above you?

See my point of view. Me and my old man had been south standers for 10 years. However my dad now has arthritis in his back so for the past two years we have had to move to the very dull paddock to sit down and just envy the atmosphere that is in the south stand. So from point of view, this is brilliant news.

What I would like to see is a lower roof. That is what makes the current south stand unique. Why do all these modern stands have very high massive roofs that is wide open to the elements??

It's all rather embarrassing. These now two groups I've seen on Facebook regarding the seating.

This. Plaster it to all those that want the south stand all standing. Also tell them that the lost 1,300 seats in the main stand will make that a complete sell out every week. What a way to attract new fans and cater for the older generation that need to sit down.

After over 25 years in the SS and previously in the Western Terrace, I have, very reluctantly, had to move to the NS this season, simply because I can no longer stand for that length of time. Firstly. I will be taking my own 'atmosphere' across with me, so to speak, and secondly I can't wait for the opportunity to get back to the SS and have a seat! So the project looks great to me. I do have some sympathy for home fans (away fans...not so much!) who appear to be stuck even longer in the Western Terrace which will look shabby and inhospitable by comparison and surely needs to be included - only a few of those houses still appear to be family homes. They have deteriorated badly, especially those let to students. It cannot continue be an unsolvable problem, given the contrast with what looks like an impressive and appropriate stadium for the game I love and the legacy of the success of best team for years.
