| I’m absolutely gutted that Sir Kev never won silverware whilst representing his country in rugby league. He was well thought of by the rugby union world cup winning Coach Sir Clive Woodward and he could have been in that team if he switched codes in the early 00s. He very nearly did.
To compensate for his lack of international silverware, Kev did captain Leeds to winning every domestic honour available and was rightly awarded the Golden Boot.
During Brian Nobles time as GB coach Kev was very rarely part of the scene which must have been very disheartening after rejecting Sir Clive Woodward’s advances. Biasness ruined what could have been a much better international career for Sir Kev.
Great news for us though!
James Graham has to be the new captain.

| I thought he might do one more tour, but good decision.
O'Loughlin looks the stand-out candidate to me.

| Graham's probably our best player now Burgess has defected. I'd leave him to crack on with being an animal.
O'Loughlin is a leader by nature and currently the league's 2nd best captain IMO.

Do you not remember the Autumn Series Win in 2012, that would be classed as silverware.

| I've just watched the interview Kevin gave today on Youtube, you can see there is genuine upset at taking the decision to retire.
Good luck to him in the future with Leeds.

Funnily enough, that's more or less what other teams' fans said about Sir Kev.
Would have him in my team every time when he's fit.

| Good news for Leeds I think, thought he might have done the tour down under this year then go. Another scapegoat will have to be found now for the international team.
The best fit for captin for me is SOL although long term think it is graham. SOL is getting on himself and appears to be suffering with injuries a bit himself, could see him following sinny to prolong his Wigan career.

| I thought he may have given it one last tour but its probably a wise choice and gives England a chance to build the team around widdop as the main half back.
I would probably go for Roby as captain would also be a good choice.o'loughlin,as good a player as he is, is too injury prone and i can't really see him going on at international much beyond this winter being 30 himself.
How long do people see kev going on for? Looking at much the international retirement aided JP could he go on another 3/4 seasons? I think so but it all depends on his appetite to do so having already acheived everything he can at club level and then some.
