| I had a terrible feeling before this tournament started that it would be under-attended, poorly promoted and a bit of a damp squib.
How wrong was I?
It's not often I'll praise the RFL but well done on getting it right this time.

| If logistically and financially it could work I'd like to see the following four year plan
Year 1 aus tour England
Year 2 nz tour england.
Year 3 england tour aus and nz.
Year 4 world cup.
The tourists play catalan and say the top 3 sl clubs, who pocket the gate money.
Team selection for all based on a Yorkshire vs Lancashire three match series.

Sounds good to me. I think we may finally have gained a bit of interest in international RL. I'd like to see a decent set of 2nd tier internationals too.

Is there an easy answer?'"
No, in PR terms its a complete disaster that there is now a three month gap (after next week) before another competitive game of professional RL is played in this country, in PR terms we've just thrown the dice and slid down the snake back to the beginning of the board game again.
Worse still there is an ongoing alternative game of professional rugby that is also showcasing its international side both now and in the spring and they are playing every weekend until May.
Shot ourselves in the foot a bit I'm afraid, its like John Lewis spending all that money on that advert and then closing all its stores until February.

| We need more games on terrestrial tv, and more high intensity games. Sky is good, but it's not the same as being right in the public view. There also needs to be a step up from SL. We've seen the intensity of the WC, and it's shown that SL is some way off. I'd love to see the War of the Roses brought back.
Also agree about 2nd tier international games. No point bringing these teams in every few years for the WC, they need to be building up to it so they become more competitive.
This competition has really whetted the appetite for international rugby. The RFL, with JP's help, need to make the most of it. Stop running the game so amateurishly and get some good investment and sponsorship

| I like the format set out above and I'd also add that the Knights play curtain raisers to the test matches against the likes of USA ,Samoa and Tonga etc etc.

| A tour would be a real blast from the past. We would have to be competitive though.

| The World Cup has shown the public have an appetite for meaningful international rugby league (not stupid exiles fixtures). Sadly, there won't be any meaningful international rugby league over here for some time.
At the games I've been to there have been very large numbers of people that were not rugby league fans. The best we could do would be market those that bought tickets with details of big games, league games or televised games and try and get attendances and viewing figures up. I doubt we will though.

| The advantage of a touring side coming over means the potential coach can see players playing against higher level opposition before the test and playing their own natural club roles. I'm sure people would pack out their local stadium to have a pop a the auzzies or seeing SBW. Couple that with a good media campaign and I'm sure people would be interested.
I'd also like to see even more work in schools, clubs offering free coaching more regularly and more competitions with awards etc for players. This could drum up interest in parents.

| If all our squad was fit moving forward I dont think we would have to change too much from yesterday.i expect sinfield to call it a day so would move tomkins into the halves with widdop.hardaker or ratchford to full back and Jack reed in for cudjoe and we should be competing well again.
its a shame that it doesnt seem we will get international rugby over here In the next couple of years but when we do,hopefully wembley will be used again.

| The back row might be an issue actually for the next WC. If Sam Burgess stays at prop which I think he should then we need some new players to step up. O'Loughlin and Westwood will be 35 & 36 by the next WC and one weakness the squad had throughout the tournament was a sub back rower that McNamara had confidence in giving enough game time too as neither Ablett or Farrell nailed their spot (highlighted by Ablett's non appearance at Wembley). Ferres i thought was very good, but again at 27 now he doesn't necessarily hit you as someone like a Burgess or Graham who you can almost guarantee will be just as good going forward in 4 years time and might just be having a couple of peak years now. Ellis has retired, can't see any point picking JJB or Wilkin anymore and Hock is finished at international level.

| Been to 8 games so far and loved every one apart from the 2nd semi final. Progress with attendance, atmosphere, community involvement etc has been impressive but a financial breakdown would be good prior to declaring this competition an overall success. With funding removed for Scotland so quickly and London experiencing severe difficulties what is the overall financial position of our game at present?
