Don't care who the ball comes from .... As long as it's early. Hall might actually be a better finisher than the great Alan Smith

| I don't rate Cudjoe, he was too greedy today but Burrow was so much better than McIlorum, he didn't do anything.

Good centres should always attack the defence and draw defenders. Half backs, and in the modern game fullbacks, are who you look to for early ball.

| I'm not overly keen on Cudjoe too, I think he is very greedy and concedes a lot of penalties.

| Still wonder whether the Burrow option would work vs the Aussies & Kiwis. It worked well today in the 2nd half because we had something like 75% of the ball in that 20mins hot patch but that's not really going to happen against the best teams and you weaken your defence by introducing him for a proper hooker.
As for Hall, as pointed out he got his assists not from his centre. In the argument about Hall's try tally this year for Leeds pretty much most of the focus/blame has gone to Moon. I think a big factor is actually no Webb and the work he use to do down the left side in attack. Hardaker has many areas where he is better than Webb was by that point (kick return, defence, discipline, catching) but we knew he didn't have the creative half-back style that Webb could offer and work so many chances for the left side attack.
As for Sinfield, well I can only imagine the grip after today's game is that we would've scored 60 had Brough and Widdop had played instead.
Watkins and Briscoe were fairly quiet and it must still be a close contest between the latter and Charnley going forwards in the tournament.
Farrell didn't get too much time and the game was just starting to lull again shortly after his introduction so hard to judge to see if he keeps Ablett out for that back rower bench spot. Which will be open to them because Sam Burgess showed we should go forward with that 4 prop selection and keep Mossop and Tom Burgess out.

| Watched Sinfield today he just stays so calm & seems to have all the time in the world. His goal kicking game could be the difference against the good sides.

Agree. He looked a passenger today. He was terrific against Inglis, hope he recovers.

| Watkins doesn't look right at the moment. Neither, for whatever reason, does Graham. Both have several gears that they'll have to go up against the bigger teams.

I've heard that he's having a clean up op come his seasons end and could miss the start of the SL season

| Watkin's is so much better than what he showed today. When fully fit he is our biggest threat along with Tomkins.

| I actually thought Chase looked better with the shackles off today. I don't really understand the ploy of picking that type of off-the-cuff player and trying to make him play with structure as an organiser. I tend to think if you want an organiser, pick an organiser. If you want unpredictable, pick Chase and let him do what he wants.
I have doubts about whether it works at test level, but I do know he's been Chase-lite against the Aussies so far - aimless and not committing to his plays. If he's going to play let him do it his way. Otherwise pick someone else.
Other than that I thought we were pretty good today. Some fantastic, desperation tackles kept at least 18 more points off the board.
Sinfield and Sam Burgess were fantastic. Tomkins was composed and dangerous when he joined in the attack, Hill was impressive again.
Tougher tests obviously lie ahead, but it was another step forward.
Comparing McIlorum to Burrow is unfair. McIlorum did well in steering the pack around the park, Burrow did well in upping the tempo against tired legs. I'd say both did the job they were there to do.

After the Australian game I would have gone with McIlorum on the bench (Roby is a class apart) but after today I think Burrow would be the better option. Something different, something quick. It's always difficult for a 9 with unfamiliar forwards, timing etc. is a challenge, but Roby is just better in every department so you have to start with him and then you have to think about bench impact and a difference. Burrow has it.
On a more general note I was far more interested in watching Sam Tomkins play today than his brother, really enjoyed the game. It had a bit of old school aggression. Good attitude from both teams - tough and in the face. Fiji stuck at it and England didn't back down. Sensible refereeing as well.

| Watkins passing to his right is shocking at times. I think it would suit him better playing at Left centre with Hall. Burrow's support play was something England was missing in the previous two games.
