| I suppose a short term loan would be ok with a 24hr recall but even then what does the lad have to do to be considered for the match day 17 he was great yesterday and looks every bit the right calibre for SL??

| Exactly what the lad needs, already done the Championship in style and needs to take it a step further. With the Leeds Roster hes sure to get more game time at Wakey in a win win situation for us. Whats the point in him festering away in the A team every week with limited time in the first team ? Hes young and still inexperienced and props need time to mature, his time will come after this season Kylie retires and young Singo gets his chance from a more advanced position. With Peacock, Bailey Kylie, Griffin, A Church and Moore in the front of him whats the problem ?. The club are looking at the long term and Kirke and Kylie will move on next year and A church and Singleton will make a more regualar appearance on the first team sheet then.

| Playing kids in the first team always has an element of risk. If we can let another club take on that risk, then I don't see the problem.
At Wakefield, he'll get regular game time and if he proves himself, he'll be back at Headingley. If he doesn't, it's Wakefield who take the hit and not us.

| As long as we don`t do anothar Amor we should be fine as Tingley Rhino has already stated.
Who would B.McD realistically leave out to accommodate Singleton?
He probably deserves a first team slot at Leeds ahead of most of what we already have but that is not going to happen I am afraid.

| I've never thought Singleton looked big enough to be a prop to be honest. He looks more like a second rower to me. He may well punch above his weight when he gets his chance, but when you consider we have two other props at 6"3 (Moore and Griffin) who are 2st and 3st heavier respectively, you've gotta wonder. Ablett, Jamie Jones and even Joel Moon are all smaller but weigh more than Singleton and at 20 years old how much more physical development can we expect when he will have been on the weights and "shakes" for the last four or five years? He seems to be a similar body shape and weight to Luke Ambler and look what happened there.

He will be 5th choice prop so I wouldn't say he is guaranteed 1st team. I'm guessing he is cover for Wilkes who has a broken thumb and may not be ready for the start of the season. So perhaps a few games early doors.

| I may be in the minority, and I have bigged Singo up in the past, but I was massively underwhelmed by him yesterday. To me this is a good deal. He doesn't look ready for the Leeds 1st team but getting game time at Wakey can only be a good thing for his development. He's streets above the kids at academy level but the gap between that and SL is too big. Give him time to develop at Wakey and it will be a massive benefit to us IMO.

| Amor mk II ?
However, I must agree with Harrigan that based on yesterday's performance I am not too concerned at yet another potentially puzzling insight into the club's apparent policy: i.e. happily building an exciting young back line, but still preferring to rely on dad's army forwards with Kirke still currying favour as youth-impeding-reserve.

| for me he is better than griffin, moore and kirke.
also kylie only plays short bursts and i'm not sure what we will get from him this year
also he may not be big built but neither is JP and it hasn't hurt his career much.

For what it's worth I agree. Singleton might not have impressed much yesterday, but a woeful or unimpressive showing never stopped Kirke being repeatedly selected. Moore has his attributes but I could never understand his signing ...and Griffin has singularly failed to impress.
Amor last season and Singleton this coming season have every right to feel undervalued IMO.

Loads is the answer. Players develop at different rates or are developed differently. At 6'3" the very minimum you would expect him to reach is 15 1/2 - 16 stone. Whether he has the frame to become "super" muscled at say 17+ stone then I don't know enough about him tbh.
When I was 20 and played RL I was 12 stone and 6'2", by the time I was 24 I'd bulked up to 15 stone and that was as an occasional player with a basic fitness routine and none of the benefits a pro player gets. Sadly never really stopped bulking up
Amor is now 1 stone heavier than he was when he left you and will maybe add another 1/2 stone this year - crucial years 20 -23 IMHO.
That said no guarantee he'll be any good no matter how big he gets.

| A year playing in SL will benefit him - and potentially the club - massively.
It's been made clear to him that Leeds believe he has a future with them, but he isn't going to see a lot of game time next year. IIRC he doesn't qualify for the Under 19s competition any more(?), so he would either be kicking his heels at Leeds or on dual reg in the Championship somewhere if he didn't go out on loan.
Realistically, with Ablett moving back into the pack and Bailey shifting to prop permanently he's probably fifth or sixth choice for four positions. Barring long term injuries to one of the other front rowers at the club, he might only get half a dozen games next year, tops. That doesn't do anything for his development, he needs to be playing in SL week in, week out.
From a physical development standpoint, I hope he doesn't try to bulk up too much. He has excellent hands and mobility for a front rower, and I can see him being most effective if he aims to be similar in body shape to someone like James Graham.

| Post GF the coaches spoke about more rotation and learning lessons from the season past this to me points to just the opposite.
For all those pointing out the perceived "positives" see Amor last year and imo we missed out on a decent young prop.
Singleton offers more than Kirke and can do longer minutes in the positions Kirke covers ,Kylie was on his last knockings last year so god knows what we are gonna squeeze out of him this year.
Brian Mc didn't give Griffin enough game-time instead choosing to flog old man JP who although finished the season in strong form looked his 36 yrs old on many occasions last season often getting battered and out-muscled by youbnger opponents.
That leaves us the unfancied Moore and Bailey!!!
I appreciate the likes of Kylie ,JP and even Kirke to a certain extent for what they have doen whilst here but when do you say enough is enough???
As for yesterday Singleton was very effective and showed more than enough that he's ready for a go at SL level.
