Funny you should say that, was thinking of gate crashing the publishing party last night at the Queens hotel. I thought they'd be loads of copies to peruse/swipe, but in the end settled for The Apprentice. Been some good comments on twitter and on here about it( notice that some are from the actual writers though so that deffo does not count!).Talk about self promotion...maybe they've been watching The Apprentice as well

I only started watching the Apprentice last year and I must admit that I’m bored of it now. I’ll just watch ‘You’re fired’ and the final next year probably.
Anyhow I’ve bought a copy and read most of the magazine so far. The most enjoyable parts for me were Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook’s column and ‘The breathtaking adventures of League Geek’ comic at the end. League geek was probably inspired by a collection of Trolls that have resided on RLFANs over the years and it should be interesting to see where they take this character.
I do hope that Richie Mathers taps into stuff other than what comes up on his twitter feed though. I can go on twitter to read him rambling on about the third man in the tackle and save myself £2.95p whilst I’m at it!
Angela Powers came across really well and she deserved a lot more column inches than what she got. I’d like to see international rugby league in developing nations get more inches too. It’d be awesome if Fourty-20 could get a student studying sports journalism at any American unverscity near a rugby league team to write a regular blog on what’s happening with the game in the states.
Other than that a big well done to the guys at scratching shed for putting together a good magazine! |
