| Richie Mathers in the challenge cup final, in that early spell of pressure you had at the start of the game you would probably have scored 2 or 3 tries against most other teams that day, Mathers was outstanding at the back for us and in most other other challenge cup finals his performance would have been close to a Lance Todd winning display. He helped to save at least 2 certain tries, may have been 3.
You could add Ryan Atkins to the list as he scored 2 tries that day.

A lot of try saving tackles that got him into the England squad?

19722.gif Woody: Can I pour you a draft, Mr. Peterson?
Norm: A little early, isn't it Woody?
Woody: For a beer?
Norm: No, for stupid questions.:19722.gif |

AFAIK Ryan Atkins was never on the leeds books. I think he went to Wakey from Bradford.

I`m probably wrong here but i thought i read or heard on tv at some point that Ryan Atkins was not deemed good enough as a Leeds junior, it was probably some lesser media type person that was getting his wires crossed with the fact that Ryan Atkins comes from Leeds rather than playing for them in some capacity.
Adrian Morley has to be added to the list having captained a side that won last years challenge cup against Leeds.

Morley's short-term loan to Bradford was also the reason they won the 2005 Grand Final ahead of us, albeit with a big asterisk denoting "cheats".

| So did Ryan Atkins not have trials at Leeds where Leeds thought he wasn`t good enough and he ended up at Bradford ?

| I've no idea.
YEP article prior to Wembley. This might have been a good time to mention it perhaps.
Atkins is digging deep for support
27th August 2010
[iLeeds-born Ryan Atkins is putting his shirt on his family supporting the Warrington Wolves at Wembley tomorrow. Atkins will be in the centres for Warrington, but most of his family are fans of Carnegie Challenge Cup final opponents Leeds Rhinos. In a bid to ensure there are no divided loyalties, he has given each member of the clan a Wolves shirt to wear for the big game. “It’s always a dream to play at Wembley, but it’s going to be extra special because it’s against Leeds,” said the former Bradford Bulls and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats player, who is in his first season at Warrington. “I consider myself a Leeds United supporter, but I also followed the Rhinos when I was growing up and most of my family follow the club. They will all be at Wembley to cheer me on. I don’t want them to be supporting the Rhinos at Wembley so I thought it would be a good idea to get them all kitted out in Warrington colours. There will be no conflict of interests, but I will be checking on the day to see that they are wearing them!”[/i
