What's the criteria used in awarding testimonials these days?

When they think someone deserves one?

Playing in SL for 10 years? (With any ammount of clubs)

Wanting to make money from shirt sales?

Actually playing for one club for 10 years?

Take your pick!

That's the only one I recognise as being justified, rewarding club loyalty when perhaps more money was on offer elsewhere.

Peacock was awarded a 3 mth testamonial for services to the sport by the rfl ala senior.
Imo he deserves it.

I know what yer saying mate but surely you agree JP deserves the recognition of a testamonial.

Call me old fashioned but historically players giving 10 years loyalty to one club have deserved a Testimonial season.

Peacock is effectively getting a Leeds Testimonial on the back of 3 seasons. I say Leeds as it will be supported by his current team's supporters in far greater numbers than any other club's.

Basically I don't agree with a club running two Testimonials simultaneously unless (as in the case of Phil Cookson and Steve Pitchford) it's an joint testimonial.

Not my problem though so I'll shut up.
