| How many QB's 6'7'' and taller have been a success in the NFL?. Did you ever see Dan McGwire? urgh.
He is probably in the CFL because he's bad at football. Just like Andy Fantuz who tore it up in Canada as a Wide Receiver but was cut by the Bears during training camp. We are talking about the Bears whose corps of Receivers is just about as bad as it gets in the NFL.

| I don't follow the college game closely enough to disagree about your opinions on RG3 but what I've read many "experts" rate him better than Newton and Vick coming out of college. Unlike Young he's also very intelligent, mature and balanced according to reports.

Good point and no although there are plenty of modern examples, jamarcus russell to name one. I think the differnce with oswieler though is his mobility in the pocket compared to other qbs his size.
We can hope he turns out to be a gem like Cam Wake was, I know the chances are slime, but we need someone to compliment reggie, Thomas will be a bust, he just dosent have the runners instict for a gap made by the o-line.

I'll admit i dont watch a lot and the bit about is character and attitude rings true to all accounts, which is good as it is often the biggest problem with 1st round qbs, eg leaf russell clausen.
My point was that unlike Newton and Young who are both 3-4 inches taller and a fair bit heavier, RG3 is simply not built to take the NFL hits, nor athletically freakish enough to avoid them like Vick. RG3 will have to learn to be a poket passer and rely less on his athletiscm than cam did or else RG3 will be spending considerable time on the treatment table imo.
Do you think the Skins will have to trade up to get him?

'" Agreed. People raised similar questions about Cam Newton before last year's draft if you'll recall.

From what I've read and, as I say, I am only going on what I've read and highlights on youtube, he's more athletic than both Vick and Newton were entering the league and is also better in the pocket than Vick and Newton were in the league. Like I say, just what i've read and I accept that is just someones opinion, just like mine and yours (though i assume they've watched more college ball than us).

Without a doubt. Cleveland is the big competition at pick 4. Nobody else before us would take a QB, IMO. The Rams will trade back and I think we'll be willing to offer more than Cleveland. They have McCoy even though they're not entirely sold on him. We have nothing!
Here's a quick article I found about RGIII which makes comparisons with Newton.

| He reallly will be something special if he is more athletic than vick. Although I agree, his solid passing fundamentals will mean his transition will be easier than vick and he could also easily be as good as or surpass Cams rookie year.
Mcoy struggled after getting levelled by James Harrison, and he has been decent, but he was only a 3rd rounder, so its not like they are giving up on a huge investment.
You have rex he is reasonably serviceable. How much do you think the skins will have to give up for RG3?

| my top 3 QB in the draft would be
Luck
RG3
than if i was the redskins MS should take a good hard look at Ryan Tannehill
brandon wheeler is good but at 28 he is too old to learn in a "fix it now and win" league.
if he is still there in r2 kirk cousins is a nice QB who may develope well
fins will go for reily reiff if he is still there or quinton couples as we go to a 4-3 line ( we dont need to do it) but wtf would i know

You have rex
I think we will need to swap 1sts, give them our 2nd and 4th and maybe next year's 1st as well. A huge price but few teams are as desperate for a franchise QB as us.

| cough the dolphins cough but your right, you are a young team that will continue to grow and get better, but it helps if you get a franchise qb to build around and will lift the young stars like kerrigan if they dont have to trudge back on the pitch after another rex pick.
However I think you are also in need of a wide reciever for your young qb, behind Cooley, Davis and the somewhat streaky Moss you are deviod of legit playmakers imo. Maybe pick up someone like Braylon edwards. or if your lockeroom can take it, the unretiring and seemingly hungry Randy Moss. Who I would love to see opposite Marshall at the fins but that will not happen because Ireland dosent like to gamble

I agree outside of Luck and Griffin the next QB off the board will depend entirelly on what that team wants in a QB, there is no standout, although IMO Tannenhill is the most intresting with his athletiscm and potential to play WR or QB and because of his injury he could fall into the 3rd where Miami could take him as a project/ to give CPR to the Wildcat. However we also need a TE.
Weeden is too old and former baseballers do not do well in the NFL, I see him dropping to the fourth maybe fith unless a team is sold on him as a starter from day one.
Fins Main needs a a RT and another pass rusher to compliment wake, who imo would benifit from a move to a 4-3. Either player you named would do nicely

We definatley do need a playmaker at WR. However, our GM, Bruce Allen, recently made a very imteresting point that it is difficult to evaluate WRs with a poor QB throwing them the ball. In 2010 reggie Wayne and Dalls Clark were voted to the pro bowl with Manning at the helm. in 2011 they didn't get a single vote.
But, you're right, a play-making WR would help. I think we might look at V-Jax in free agency. If Philly let D Jax hit the market he'd be interesting

| It's so nice to have all this worry about what to do with your first round draft pick taken away by not picking until number 55.
Interesting off-season ahead for the Falcons, with both co-ordinators biting the dust and being replaced by their counterparts from Jacksonville and Miami.

Before the present regime we'd give them up for has been's like Jason taylor.
The Redskins have had two great drafts under Shannahan and Allen. I'm hoping for a third and then some wins to follow.

| The Bears have cap space and need to make a move now for a quality WR or two. Players such as Dwayne Bowe, Vincent Jackson and either one of the Saints pair of Marques Colston or Robert Meachem fit the bill.
The window of opportunity for the Bears to return to the Super Bowl is closing rapidly with key defensive players Lance Briggs, Brian Urlacher and Peanut Tillman all the wrong side of 30. Because of consistently bad drafting by the now departed Jerry Angelo there are virtually no younger players ready to step up and become NFL stars and there is a lack of depth in key positions, LB especially.
Don't even mention the O-line, it would be nice to see J'Marcus Webb get out of his stance BEFORE Jay Cutler is laying in the turf with a giant man sat on his head. At least Martz and his antiquated scheme has gone the way of the dodo.
