Mclelland is interesting to me. When I've seen U19's highlights or games on Youtube, he clearly has a lot of talent, and seems to be a really good defender, but he sits back on most plays.

I'd really like to see him demand the ball. Maybe he feels a bit above the U19s and doesn't find it challenging enough. I just feel like if I were him, I'd be trying to handle the ball at least 3 times a set and really take control of the game.

Having said that, it's from quite limited viewing. Anyone else noticed a similar pattern or am I off the mark?

It's hard for youngsters in the halves to make an impression I feel. Do the older more established players trust them? Do they listen? Does the young half have the confidence to ask for the ball often enough?

Agree with everyone above. I suspect the club is trying to work on McLelland as a linking half, rather than taking on the line all the time. I quite like what I've seen, he can defend quite well for his size and he has a strong all-round game, although lacks the pace of a young McGuire or Burrow.
Partner him with a skilful running half and we'd have a good combination going.
Wouldn't worry too much if we do change both halves for 2020 - McLelland will still be called upon to cover for injuries or form, we do need three decent halves at the club who can all do a job.
Definitely if I was Myler or Tui I'd be looking over my shoulder, looks like the writing is on the wall for both.

Gary Carter saying on twitter we are swopping Lolohea for Lui now fair doos ill take that. icon_thumb.gif
Still not convinced he (Lui) is the type we need or as good as some rate him but easily beltter than that disinterested unfit turn style.
I still dont see swopping Parcell for Lunt as a positive though it makes a relegation rival stronger & weakens us.

That will mean Parcel can stay. Unless he goes to create room for Hastings

Probably the best deal for both clubs, watch him (tui) go and play a blinder for the rest of the season icon_wink.gif

While I don’t really see lui as the answer would be happy with Tui going not too bad

Tui for Lui makes sense.

If Parcell goes to KR, also gives us another quota spot to fill.

Parcell for Lunt isn't the point guys. The point is that we get out of 16 months or whatever for an overseas spot player who isn't in The Plan.
The spot allows us to look for quality where we really need it. Johnson is very highly rated by the club and would expect to see him feature in first grade a bit next year.
Pretty much every overseas player who isn't really adding value will be asked to leave I imagine.
Merrin, Hurrell, Ava probably safe, but the rest are squad players which are spots we should give to Academy lads instead. It should be much easier to chop and change players next year with the reserves comp.
I've been massively disappointed with Tui, he does need to go unfortunately.
Hoping there isn't an underlying behavioural issue which is making Salford want rid of Lui though. We shall see.

Salford need the cash it’s as simple as that, he’s thought of really highly at Salford by all accounts

Isn't it far more entertaining being in this situation rather than sitting pretty and winning every week... icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif
