See you ask me that question and I can answer honestly, yes they've made huge strides forward and the stable foundations are a good place to build from very happy with the bonus cc too but challenging performances and being happier with the progression are positions it's possible to hold together.
Fortunately for me I've coached and watched the game for long enough to know that sustained development comes from performances first and foremost.'"
Take it for what it is, a tired team having a dip in form, historically following a cc win, most teams have gone through exactly the same dip, Leeds did in 2015 but still managed to finish off the treble!
Mark my words, they win learn from that loss and improve, whether they can do that quick enough for Sunday is another matter

Like I’ve already said, yes the performance was poor, I’m not disputing that, but we still won. The congested fixtures make it more difficult to improve from a poor outing, then add in the covid issues and it becomes an uphill battle

I said at the time i was really disappointed/annoyed at Mondays performance, even with the win I think we got suckered in to a scrap which took a lot out of us to back up again 3 days later, In hindsight I think we should have played the ‘second’ side tonight, it leaves us a bit of a quandry for Sunday, do you let the players roght the wrong of tonight? I feel we’ll lose both against Wakefield now whoch will be disappointing indeed.

| Seth, do you think its fair to judge performances at the moment when the coaching staff has very little time to prepare the team?
I know you will mention the team had 8 days prep for the cas game but the coachong staff had to prepare a team for the Saints game a few days before the Cas game.
For me, effort is all we can expect at the moment and all we can judge the team on.
I saw plenty of effort in both games v Cas and Wakey.

And add in the fact we had 4 players stood down the day before, it’s not about excuses it’s about looking at it pragmatically
There was a lot of effort in that second half and it wasn’t lack of effort against Cas that annoyed me it was lack of composure more than anything

| Wakey were good and you could see what it meant to them giving high fives pushing a player in touch.
Leeds a bit unlucky with the former Trinity season ticket holder helping them out.
For me we put the cue on the rack after we won the CC.
Not sure we are tired as we were the stronger side up to going down to 12 men.
Mentally it takes something to get up for a cup final and can take much more out of you than the physical side of things.
For me we don't have the desire possibly due to a lack of positive energy.

I think that game prep at this stage isnt that complex and key individuals have unfortunately not contributed what's needed from them, ie the halves where the shape in attack at the goal line has been scratchy for a while. The effort I think was too late to arrive tonight and feel that the energy they then showed it was there. Earlier in the game and it could have been wakey struggling to get a foothold.

| A much better group of Leeds players had some much worse performances than we are seeing at the moment following g a CC win.
That year was 2015, and that team did the treble.
We’ve over achieved this year with the cup win, we’re not as good as some think we are, but we’re also not as poor as some think we are too. We had a bad day at the office, it happens sometimes. We will bounce back and some of our younger players are getting some very good experience during this very strange season...

I believe they should have gone full strength v saints then played the following games responding from that position. People will not agree I'm sure, and of course that's fine.

| Quote: KaeruJim "I think most of us would have snapped a hand off for the CC this year and a respectable table position.
Can Smith has been in and out of form since his injury but he’s so much more physical than he was, I’m looking forward to seeing the 2021 version.
Lots of real positives from this year, the Leeds star is rising again and that’s a much happier place to be.
The top brass need to try to add some quality to the side now if we’re to step up again.'"
Good post

Wrong group to be posting this. Their are two groups on Facebook for these type posts. Think both groups have humour in the name which will give you a clue.

Cam has the skills to be a very good player for the next 10 years, but he’s put a bit too much size on and has lost his pace as a result. I’d like to see him a bit leaner and quicker for next season, think it would help him game and really cement a starting spot rather than a bench spot.

Smith as outstanding before he broke his jaw, he’s been pretty patchy since his return
