Technically I imagine they are.

Yes, but I'd also be very surprised if there isn't an agreement that Leeds will have first refusal on them in 2020 if any of them make significant progress. Fev fans were told at a fans forum after Luke rejoined you that there was always that kind of agreement in place for him.

I also wonder (this is just a guess, mind) if Fev and Leeds have put their heads together and come up with some sort of agreement for Fev to run a reserve team. This would actually make sense from both clubs' point of view, giving players too old for the Rhinos' U19s an outlet whilst enabling Leeds to keep them in mind for the future, and helping Fev avoid the kind of situation we have been in in the Shield where we can't raise 17 fit bodies.

From what I can tell the guy who won (on lon from Saints) played only a couple more games but scored less tries, seems a strange one to me

I’ve got no issue with one of our kids flying a bit underneath the radar and keeping the pressure off. Newman looks pretty special, the longer we can keep him out of the spotlight and allow him to develop without added pressure, the better

Harry Newman scored another 2 trys for fev in the final today (bbc say he got 3 but fevs twitter page says 2), the second was a cracker apparently, finished the season with 16 trys in 12 games for fev, brilliant season for him. Tyler Dupree also crossed for a try.

Yes all 3 newcomers from the U19s did very well. Dupree looks a unit, took 3 over the line for his try and had a 50m break too. Mustapha (not sure of his name) was knocking people over like a bowling ball and the other lad went well too. Most Fev fans very impressed.

It’s going to be interesting to see if Mustapha and/or Dupree can force their way into the squad to play the Aussie Schoolboys next month.
