Quote: ThePrinter "What was so different about our lineup apart from Moon at HB, which didn't go that well on previous occasions and a different FB who had a good 10 minute spell?'"

Quite unfair to earlier suggest Golding was quiet and now that he only had a good ten minute spell. IMO he had a fine game and showed he has pace, good feet, good awareness and that he reads a game well and is brave and was always looking to get involved. Qualities that I believe will make him a future star.

Can't recall him doing anything of real note in the first half. When we had all that possession near their line in the first half he wasn't really doing anything as an "extra half" so to speak and joining in. Granted as you saw in the 2nd half he has good footwork and speed but so did BJB who he reminds me very much of but as an all round FB I can't see it for a team hoping to be pushing for top 4 next year. He had nothing to deal with kick-wise tonight so can't see if he's improved in that department which hasn't been great in the past.

Well said, you are correct. The way to judge a player's good performance is against good opposition, and Leigh were certainly not that tonight.

Quality watching Chicko, he was awesome tonight.Goes very well against weaker opposition. You have a real pedigree there.

Quote: Biff Tannen "stuck some coin on Leigh tonight to keep it under 12..typically Leeds play like its a GF and Leigh play like absolute poop.....F@#k this season
I chucked it on Leeds 16-20, so we both lose. Soon as we lost Worthington on our Right, our winger had cried off late, we were wide open through that channel. I can only assume picking Smith before McNally was sentimental as he wasn't picked for the 5 games that won us promotion.

See you next season, prior to which we will have about 8 players arriving so should give you a better game.

Golding needs a big off season to get bigger and stronger. Hes got pace and is very elusive but doesnt understand how to use his footwork yet for example, and ive watched him a lot in 19s, he will beat 3 or 4 men with footwork but lose 10 yards in doing so. He certainly has a chance cos he has pace but next year or 2 will tell us how far he can go, if at all, when he has strengthened up fully.

Thought there was some positives tonight. Playing Moon in halves allows him to play inside Keinhorst and with Ward fit inside them there is the potential to be strong defensively on that left hand side of the pitch.Ferres Watkins and Briscoe make a strong right hand side too.

Segeyaro, whilst occassionly sloppy in his play, is a tremendous signing and an off season with him building understanding and timing should improve our ruck play big stylee.

Pleased young Wardy has come thru these 4 games healthy push the kid in pre-season and he will be a fantastic player for us. Fingers crossed he can stay fit now.

Thought Singo was good again tonight. He has his limitations but he gives it everything and is a tough lad.

As others have said we used the ball a bit more tonght as we did last 20 at Hudds and we are a far better team when we move it about.

This off season is an important one for us. There wont be many changes so the players we have need to improve and the team structure and play needs tonnes of work. Not getting carried away at all by tonight but we have something to build on.

Assuming not many personnel changes the first thing that needs to happen is to stop with the victim mentality that seems to have developed this year. I think we entered this season with senior players on autopilot due to last year's success and the general air of satisfaction that developed, combined with the loss of JP and Sinfield lowering expectations. Then as soon a things got tough the whining began - floods, injuries etc not being seen as obstacles to overcome but as excuses for playing awfully.

Without personnel changes I'm not sure why we'd expect to see a huge turnaround next year unless our attitude changes first.

Championes! Championes! Oley Oley Oley!

Another trophy for the cabinet icon_lol.gif

Why was this a trophy again? Risamn was a good player but he wasn't one the best to ever play for the club
Are they gonna invent a trophy for every M8s?

If we were gonna do something like that, then why not the Gary Schofield trophy with Hull?

I know he has just come back from injury but I really want to see Ward get his hands on the ball more. I still think he would make a top class 9 but ignoring that I would like to see him play like o'loughlin does for Wigan and get more involved, given he started a a 6 in the academy.

I don't think he can run games from loose forward like Sinfield did but he is definitely too skillful to be used as a workhorse type player

Quote: Cokey "Well i'm sorry pal, but our discipline and mistakes were our own fault not because of Leeds. Yes you were the best team on the night for sure, but you are getting carried away. If you had played against a top SL side tonight you would be talking differently.'"

You are still missing the point badly. We have been poor all year, last night was one of the bright spots. The indiscipline of Leigh was called on here weeks ago by most Leeds fans. They came to bully as expected, we had younger players in, we stood up to it and moved with pace. The indiscipline was as a result of that, and we earned it.
