| I liked this bit...[i putting together a thorough dossier to be sent to Ellis in Australia to showcase exactly what Hull have to offer.[/i
Shouldn't take too long.
1.....The Deep
2....The Humber bridge.
3.... M62 out

I should imagine that when you're talking to a player's agent, the "dossier" consists largely of a piece of paper with a " £ " symbol written on it, followed by a number.
Incidentally, the museum quarter in Hull is very good too. Free entry and all.

| Adam Pearson is moving Hull in the right direction but it took Simon Moran at Warrington around 5 years at least to get them to the top of the table. Ellis hasn't got that kind of time if he wants to win things.

People who choose to post rumours don't need any help from me in that regard.

IF it's RL or Rhinos related what's the problem with it?

I don't have a problem with it and most of our rumours eventually turn out to be correct! Let's hope that Frostie is as reliable as usual with the Ellis signing.

| In a world without a salary cap (and allowing for financial prudence) I would have gaz back in a heartbeat, but I suspect he will be looking for a sizeable salary package. Whilst I think he has earner the right to be amongst, if not the best paid player in the league I wouldn't want that to be at a cost to the young and exciting squad we are building. Would signing ellis prevent us for example from enhancing the salararies of players like BJB hardaker and Watkins a couple of years down the line. If his signing in a position we are not exactly short on cause these kind of dilemas I would rather it became another clubs problem (assuming that is that other clubs actually bother with the cap) after all we have managed reasonably well since he left.

No. If the cap is a problem then resiging Delaney, and to an extent (although done much earlier) new contract for Kirke, are what would stop enhancing others contracts. You don't turn down someone better than anyone you have in his position, because you have shot your load too early with others.

| yes but the club are where they are. Unless there has been some behind closed doors discussions some time ago Ellis appearing on the market was unforeseeable. We have contracts in place with the squad, rightly or wrongly in each case and now have to work within that constraint, signing any marquee player shouldnt be the detriment of the entire squad.
For what its worth I suspect in reality we do have enough cap space given buderus has left togther with cross and burgess and been replaced by griffin and moore (on presumably broadly the same as cross and burgess respectively) on that basis we may have buderus type money to spend on ellis. Only GH and PC know how much wriggle room we actually have and Ill continue to trust their judgement.

| Howabout a 2 year deal with us that gives him a decent salary and the chance of winning something, and tacked on the bottom of that Agreement, a 2 year deal with Cas that allows him to satisfy his personal wishes?

| My sources are suggesting that Mr Ellis will be signing for the Black & White book burners on 'umbersard on his return to Blighty.

I hope your sources are not as reliable as Frosties (along with others) who has been confident that Ellis would be coming back to the Rhinos! If he does not want to sign for the World Champions do you think GH has got someone else lined up to please the fans?

Personally hope he hasn't got someone lined up to please the fans, but to benifited the team.
Not seen any OOC threads yet so not sure who is available next year either here or NRL

| Gaz would be a great player to have back on board at the club without a doubt, He would almost be a luxury signing.
If we don't happen to re sign Gaz then so be it, as it won't weaken what we already have in place at present at the club
IMO we don't need to panic if we don't get him back, and then just go out and sign someone else instead.
I have complete faith in our junior players like Ward and Singleton who are chomping at the bit in the U20's and are clearly able to make the grade at SL level and very quickly too
