I don't know about being labelled as old and past it but Cuthbertson's been called a one season wonder by at least one demented old fart on here.
Ablett's been called old and past it by several knee jerking halfwits.

Isn't Cuthbertson 32? Anyway, still got a good couple of years left in him.As have Ablett and Ferres.Only circa 30 player i personally believe is pretty much done is Delaney.

Ablett when selected was garbage up until a few weeks ago & it was rightly pointed out & likewise as was his excellent performance last night.

Sounds like a case of too many cooks with trigger happy fingers.

With regards to Golding, much has been made about how McDermott didn't bring on Hardaker's attacking game but without doubt he became the best defensive FB in the competition. I think most, myself included, wasn't convinced how Golding would cope defensively but he's been doing great. Perhaps not a coincidence that our two FB's under McDermott have both excelled defensively even if attacking wise they haven't done as well as possible.

Also I got to say watching Golding's interview with Wells afterwards, he seems like a cracking lad with personality and a real credit to the club.

Watching the game back, whilst I can understand why they went with Ablett for MOM I'd have given it Watkins, definitely his best performance for arguably 18 months. Shows what happens when HE gets himself involved and backs himself, arguably should've passed to Briscoe for his try but he delivered himself, would've been slated had he come up short.

2nd game vs Leigh, Ablett was outstanding.

Good job we didn't retire him off after 1 poor performance and replace him with some 18 year old wonder kid then, isn't it?

All Watkins needs is the right service from inside and he looks fantastic. If he played on the left, he'd have a shed more assists and trys.

1 he was woeful for most of 2016 when fit/selected along with plenty of other snr "superstars" & non of em deserve to be undroppable so if we're splitting heirs lets not make it was just a 1 game blip.

He also needs to be left slone at centre & not used as an extra BR with or without the ball.

I don't think he ever was properly fit, like most of the senior guys. We're seeing what having a proper preseason can do to the team.
