According to the YEP Daryl Powell thinks there were some "tough calls" against them. Not sure what else Thaler could have done with a 13-6 penalty count in their favour and a lot of 50/50 calls going their way (especially all the ball steal penalties they got compared to the loose carry knock-ons given when we lost it in the tackle).

Yep it was 3 or 4 calls from Thaler that effectively got Cas back into the game.
There were 2 in particular virtually back to back midway in the second half where he gave a knock-on against us despite Cas hands all over the ball and then a penalty against us for the same thing.
Then another one after the kick off I think that he then gave us a team warning for.

In defence of the refs it’s very difficult to tell but there was a period there where it felt harsh towards us.

The facts are that Blair couldn't afford not to take that horror of a pass and Handley couldn't afford to let him get past him with the ball. Only one of them got their script right.

McShane got his hands in almost every tackle. Outcome was successful slowing PTB while opposition player tried to disentangle, and at least 2 “knock ons” won.

Whilever cheating gets rewarded players will do it to gain an advantage. All sides do it to some extent but I particularly noticed McShane last night.

I’ve also seen players drop the ball when in possession and tackled by 2+ players when they fee they’ll win a penalty.

If we can get rid of this crap it will significantly enhance the spectacle.

Powell, thank god he's extended his contract at Cas, some on here really like him, candidly he is a poor looser, always Blames others for his shortcomings , look at last nights game, Thaller tried everything to help Cas and he comes out with they got some bad calls.
