If I had been a member of a certain Scottish popular beat music combo in the early 1970s, the ones who made a big thing of wearing trousers that were too short and lots of tartan, yes, those ones, the ones who had every schoolgirl in the country lusting for their very bones, then I would be rather nervous around now, jumping at every knock at the door, that sort of thing.

Especially as their manager didn't exactly set a good example to them...

What a lovely sentiment. It would be nice to have some evidence before we completely shred a persons reputation. Not necessary, but nice. That's the beauty of waiting until he's death to come out of the woodwork, because you're not trying to convict him of a crime, merely ruin a reputation and who needs evidence to do that eh?

Evidence is the absolute cornerstone of what is needed to convict someone of the things Saville has been accused of and without such a conviction I refuse to join the masses who are happy to accept his guilt on the basis that

1. The Media says it's so.
2. The Police say it's so
3. People always thought, in retrospect, that he looked kinda funny

Its hard to argue with that

I may be on my own here, but it seems a shame to me that irrespective of the truth or nor of the allegations made against the late JS. The real losers in this sorry mess will be the good causes that he worked to help. I assume a great deal of his estate will now disappear into the bottomless pit of legal fees.
