How do you know the terms of his contract please?

I'd like to ask the same question by addressing the CEO himself but you can't believe a word he says.

Absolute minimum is top 4, or top 6 and the CC trophy (loosing the final doesn't suffice) if he can't do it we need to find a coaching staff who can.

So the terms of his contract state he should only lose a maximum of 59% of games and all is fine?

Sounds like a good deal - so long as you have a 40% win record, you are moving forward (!)

We'll be fine. McDermott mis-read his previous contract & thought he could be sacked if he won more than four in any 10 games.

I would like a look at Macs win percentage, I would be willing to bet it is close to the worst of any coach we have had in SL.

He is also going into his 7th season. I have never seen a coach last as long in 30 years of watching the club.

He's actually correct about the new contract, just saying. He now can be sacked without compensation due to the clause.

In that case Segs has proper screwed him over, no wonder he's ed off - he can see his sacking looming on the horizon!

I appreciate that, and obviously he could't have as high a win percentage as someone which came in, won something and left (ala McGuire at Wigan).
But I still think that if you look at his win percentage compared to our other coaches we have had in SL (who didn't have as good teams as he had), as well as his league finishing positions, it shows a great deal of inconsistency.
For me he needs to prove he can get this team in the top 4 (or top 6 with the CC) to keep his job beyond this year.

You mention it will be his 7th season, perhaps the club needs a shake up to refresh thing? There are not many managers in world sports that stay in the same job that long.

The biggest frustration I have with him is he doesn't use all 4 sub if he does 1 only get 10-15 minute game time

Throughout his time as manager, there have been those saying that we only won the trophies because he let Sinfield basically coach the team.

I always thought that was a bit of an over statement, but has he done anything since sinfield left to dispel that rumour?
