He's been making up for lost time this year. We've had him 3 or 4 times already this year.

| Ref was shocking tonight BUT for both teams. Hudds had hands in the ruck all the time and Silverwood hardly picked up on it.
The standard of refereeing really is crap, even the video refs are getting things wrong.

| The Diskin try was Monsieur Alibert's decision. Another baffling decision from the Frenchman.

LEEDS RHINOS - HISTORY MAKERS-2007, 2008 and 2009 Champions
[quote="TheOtherOne":7qqvi4ts]Leeds are still the best team in the competition so if we do have to play them I would hope it's at Knowsley Road with home advantage giving us a chance to knock them out. If somehow we end up playing them at Old Trafford I can only see one outcome

Not really.
1)Peacock didn't play at it.
2) The last contact before he picked it up was off Wild.

Haven't yet seen the replay, but it made me scratch my head at the time. Accidental offside for mine.

| I thought all the officials had poor games tonight.
But one good thing that Silverwood did was to penalise the Giants ( mason ) i think for moving off the mark.
It made up for the earlier error when he penalised McGuire (I think) for holding Wilde when he moved forward about a metre as McGuire was trying to get back to marker.
Saints are masters at doing this to win dodgy penalties.
No matter how bad the ref was he wasn't the one dropping the ball in our 20 metre zone.
As has been said mistakes do tend to even out over a season.

| Quote: OoOGazOoO "So are you saying that Silverwood had an awesome game? ? ?
What about when McGuire reefed the ball from Griffin in a 3-on-1 tackle and gave a knock on against Griffin? ? ?
What about when Diskin is stood offside, Peacock knocks on, yet Diskin still gets the try? ? ?
The forward pass from Diskin when he made the pass behind the player, then adjudged the Hudds player of taking the Leeds player out? ? ?
They are just 3 more crap decisions from the officials tonight.'"
What about Where Sinfield had a clear facial on the floor and the ball knocked from his grasp. Knock on given. then in the next set Hudders lost the ball and a penalty given to them? Works both ways.
What about the trip on McGuire when he would have been clean through?
The Diskin try was completely correct. Do you not know the rules? Huddersfield knocked the ball on and it bounced off a player, that player not playing at the ball. Therefore play on.

| Can't agree with the Diskin try being right. I felt scrum Leeds was the only way that Mr Alibert could go. Whether played at or not by Peacock, Diskin is offside.
Thought the refereeing was very poor again in the game, but the playing field was generally level and bad decisions went both ways.

Then learn the rules.
Look at it another way. If it was in the middle of the park and Huddersfield had the ball. If Diskin went in and made the tackle, and the Huddersfield man coughed up possession and it hit a supporting player coming in to make the tackle not playing at it. Diskin picks up the ball and runs to the try line.
Do you seriously think any questions would be asked about that? The scenario is no different. The Huddersfield player knocked on and it hit a player not playing at it. Play on is the rule.

I think that's right if it hadn't touched Wild last. Ref seems to have ruled Peacock didn't play at it and it touched Wild's leg on the way through putting Diskin on-side in that case. If it doesn't hit Wild, then you're right. I'm not too sure of the state of off-side when a player doesn't play at the ball. Unlucky for Hudds, but looked correct call. Where have we seen those recently?
