The disciplinary committee meets on a Tuesday. The charges are officially announced on a Monday. Do you really think it's beyond the realms of possibility that clubs may get a heads-up about upcoming charges prior to the announcement, in order to decide on early guilty pleas etc etc?

As a neutral (Wire) I think he got what he deserved. Any more would have been unfair, and any less the same. His exemplary past record has to be taken into account, just like any other disciplinary 'court'. He has been an undoubted ambassador for the game for ages. You cant crucify the guy for 1 brain fart in a career that's spanned how many years??

On the other side though, if he had got more I probably wouldn't be too upset either, as he couldn't face us in the semi. He is a born leader and motivator, and I think he'll be a major force in that game.
