I know, i was just giving my two penneth worth. I didnt see a problem with it but who knows with the current disciplinary set up.

| If Newman has re-injured hammy then it's a massive blow for us & him and he needs to get it 100% right before making any sort of come back. I think we can still have strike out wide without him though but Agar has to give people chances I think Fusitu'a will be a real good signing once hes got a few games under his belt he missed most of pre season & then been out with concussion protocol so he will be rusty for a few more weeks.I'd love too see this if Newman has a spell on sidelines again
2. Fusitu'a
3. Broadbent
17. Briscoe (as back up incase of injury)
Or we could even possibly see
2. Tindall
3. Fusitu'a
17. Broadbent/ Briscoe ( cover for injuries)
For me I'd be leaning towards that second option Tindall & Fusitu'a on right side would have plenty of strike as season goes on.

| I Get the thinking behind calls for changing the line up in the backs and giving Broadbent a go but for me He and others need to force their way in by performance.
I’m not sold on Agar but think he has to build partnerships and get some consistency and better team play through the season. Only Sutcliffe and Handley have ever played much together.
So for me Walker and Myler battle it out for FB. And then we stick to squad numbers 2-7 when fit and keep those players in those positions whenever possible.
So If Newman out, Briscoe comes in and we keep all the others where they are.

What more do you want Broadbent to do exactly?

Rip it up in the reserves and training, play much better than Briscoe and he will get in

| Well Briscoe hasn't exactly set the bar high and surely it works both ways with him playing well enough to keep his place.

Exactly, it's hard to know what more he can do.

| Agree Briscoe at centre is not Gene Miles so Broadbent if good enough and defending well enough he should be able to force his way in as this season rolls on.

| Briscoe is not a centre and is at the tail end of his career. Broadbent is a centre and potentially has a long career ahead of him. I don't see any rationale for picking Briscoe ahead of Broadbent other than Briscoe showing great from in the centres, which he hasn't.

| I find it frustrating, and it's not that I've seen a huge amount of Broadbent. However it's plain as day that Briscoe is a square peg in a round hole.
My only thought would be that he struggled with the physically of first team, and struggled defensively. Briscoe whilst having limited impact in attack, is pretty solid defending

Yep. Pretty sure Agar has praised his metres carrying out from deep too. Not really what I'd be looking at closely from a centre but the kind of metric that some coaches seem to like. Possibly rightly, who knows?

| To be fair to Agar Briscoe wasn’t picked at centre this week, he was a sub. Broadbent is currently behind in the pecking order as things stand, who knows why, perhaps his performance in pre season training wasn’t at the same level as his competition or he may have picked up a small unreported injury in pre season.
It’s early days in both the season and Broadbent’s career, but Agar has put him in the first team before and I’m sure he will again. I wonder if he’s a player who may feature for the Bulls in the new dual registration agreement.

| Its upto Broadbent to perform to a higher standard. He scored 3 last week but he let one in and overall didnt do enough and i say that as a big fan of Jack.

True. He's always been a strong carrier early in the tackle count. Part of the game often overlooked. RL these days is 95% graft and 5% flair, so steady wins the day
