| Wow there's a lot of negativity on here. Yes we lost again and are 0 from 3 but bar the Wigan one we could have won 2. Really lacking in the backs but with the right and winger missing it could/should be expected. Thought we were too slow in everything tonight. Dwyer added a bit of zip when he came in. Cam Smith an absolute liability in defense. Lost count of the lazy 6 against he was involved in. Needs to cut those out of his game as he could be great. Walker not sure he brought anything to the attack either.
All that said thought catalan defended really well. Allowed the ruck down and looked organised. They took their opertunities well and we didn't.
Hopefully mellor was all precaution and nothing too nasty. Never want to see any player go off on a stretcher. Not sure if Leeming was injured or just kept off for the second half.
Think we'll finally win one next week. At least that's 3 of the top 4 from last year played. If we'd lost to the lower teams (no disrespect meant) I'd be far more concerned

| In previous years I might agree with the sentiment of waiting until mid-season, but we already look like a side shredded of confidence. This is Agar's third season as coach, he's not new to the job and I'm bored of 'we'll review the video' or 'we'll be better when we get bodies back' only for some of the same horribly out of form (or position) players to be picked again despite mind-blowingly poor efforts, either in whole or at critical times in the game. There are always choices and changes that can be made, even with injuries.
I strongly believe that with the same squad and injuries we would be a lot better under Woolf or any other top class coach. Wigan look a different side under a new coach as well, and not just because they have some players back. They lost a halfback early and their coach commented how the team adjusted quickly themselves without him needing to input. That sounds like a team that has a plan and knows what to do in difficult circumstances. The opposite of Leeds.
While Catalans finished second last year that wasn't their best team. If they'd had their first choice forwards we would have been mullered.

| I only watched the last half hour, but it was pretty dire. I agree with most the sentiments on here, we send to really lack cutting edge. On paper we have the best halves in the league, but seemed to create little. What we did create was butchered. In the period I watched we didn't put in an attacking kick at any point. Last season I thought it was an ok option to run on the 5th and turnover in a controlled manner, as without specialist kickers it was a safe option. Now we should have people who should be able to test opposition defenders on the last tackle.
I don't understand how bodene Thomson gets a game. Offers nothing, and at fault for one of their tries. Briscoe offers little. Suffice looked alright and at least made decent breaks, but fluffed one of them that would have led to a score. I didn't see prior or learning last night. Were they injured too?
If this was last year, 0 from 3 but competing would have been ok. For a team to be supposedly challenging at the top I don't think it's acceptable

| I’m starting to think that Agar’s boring gameplan and bizarre rigidity in centre selections is stifling the team. I really will if move him upstairs now and give Longy a go for rest of season. Has the experience now, and I’d love to see Magsy brought in as assistant. Surely two exiting ex-halfbacks could at least inject some style back?

| One of the poorest games I've seen for ages.
Even worse than last week for me, because actually Cats were there for the taking and we were totally devoid of any strike.
Wigan were far better than us, so I can accept that more than last night.
We had plenty of opportunity in their 20 to win that game.
But we are clueless in attack.
I'm so disappointed with Sezer - again he was anonymous.
As said, Smith is a liability in defence, just pure lazy 6 agains every time. It kills us.
And the passing across the line is diabolical.
It starts with Dwyer. When the first receiver has to collect the ball from behind his head, he is immediately under pressure to get his pass away quickly, so that pass to second receiver is rubbish as well.
Every player along the line has to stop or reach back for the ball. It completely kills the attack.
As said, the centres are just not good enough.
Tindall did OK again, but exposed in defence a bit.
I thought the 3 props, Prior, Mik and Tet did a good job to lay the platform and get us good field position.
But totally let down by the halves and 3/4's.
I know we're only 3 games in and there's some knee jerk.
But the coaching is a massive issue.
We look really badly coached.
Devoid of ideas, motivation, discipline, direction, leadership, any sort of plan. There looks to be no game plan at all.
Coaching basics.
We have to be looking elsewhere for next season.
That performance last night struggles against Wakey, HKR and Salford, never mind Wigan & Wire.
I daren't even mention the S word, because they are a million miles ahead of us.
Get some bodies back, a bit of luck, keep our discipline......
Same old story.
I'm already looking ahead to next season.....
Oh, and to top it off, the pitch is an absolute disgrace!

You’re looking ahead to next season, after 3 games?
I wasn’t overly impressed last night at all but come on there’s a long way to go and we haven’t had a settled team yet.
FWIW I don’t think agar will be head coach next year.

He shouldn't have been head coach this year. If the plan is to move him upstairs, surely the perfect timing would have been at the end of last season filling the vacant DOR role.
Done a good job in stabilizing us, a decent, honest and media friendly guy. We needed to apply the same focus in recruiting a new head coach as we did with new players.

| We have played 3 that will all be in the top four so far, so not overly worried about results.
I think without Newman, we lack a lot of zip in the backline. Whether Newman is back or not next week, I'd really like to see Broadbent given a run in the team. I think he would actually do better than Walker at fullback.
Austin will be decent, and I'm sure Sezer will come good. Martin will add a lot as well attack wise, so we should be due a better performance next week.
Out of our props, I thought Tet was our best. I'm slightly worried we've all rated Mik a little further on than he actually is right now, because McMeekan looked his equal (if not better) up front tonight, and he was poor last week.

In 2020 Saints lost 3 out of 6 with their fans wanting Woolf out - things can change
I don’t think Mik is 100% fit
Sezer hasn’t played for a long time and weve a full back whos been out for 2 years.
Our next 3 are winnable if we can get those wins things look a bit different

| Agree with plenty on here. Will try and find something different to say.
They had 1-7,9,11,12 & 13 playing and were missing 3 of best 4 props. Thought we still got dominated a bit physically.
They made a fair few errors as well but when they went wide the passing was far better with the quality of Tomkins a key part.
Thought Sezer kicked well first half , forced at least 2 drop outs and I thought Austin got stuck in a lot second half and looked our main threat. Neither were brilliant but they have so little to work with outside them and so much of our play is so slow, when we try and play faster the accuracy of passing fails.
The return of 3rd rate kick and giggle is the reason the pitch looks like an Egyptian rag and bone man’s back garden.
Hope Alex Mellor is OK this morning.
Finally, I’m counting my blessings today that I support this lot and LUFC rather than Dynamo Kiev.

The pitch is an embarrassment. I was dragged to Cas vs Salford. The pitch was literally a carpet, Stadium falling to bits but has that nostalgic charm….

I suspect you maybe a Shamrhino and an undercover carpet carrier Shabs.
“Nostalgic charm” for wheldon road, you make it sound like the Taj Mahal, the real one not the takeaway.
