| Walker was the man of the match by a distance followed by Merrin, Hurrell and Cam Smith.
He is a superstar in the making anyone who thinks he should be sacrificed to allow a failed/over weight half back to get a game needs their bumps feeling.

You showed yourself up with your first post. If you look at my posts previous, you will see I am a critic of his. However, as I watch a match with my eyes open, I will also give credit where it is due. You should try the eyes open bit when going to games.

I was more meaning losing by a drop goal but I take your point.
This could give us the platform and confidence to kick start our season but we’ll see
We have looked far better attacking wise this year with the structures Furner has put in place

We have but then we’ve had long periods in most games where we haven’t looked close to scoring, we can’t maintain a consistent threat or apply consistent pressure.
Have to lay some of the reason for that with our halves and the end-set options being taken.
We also look a lot better with a human wrecking ball on the left. When Walker comes into the line and you’ve got Hurrell outside him, other sides look terrified.

| There are signs that the defence is improving for stretches of games. The team do need to look at damage limitation when we're on the back foot though - preventing the needless penalties, avoiding one-on-one misses, and stopping teams marching downfield against us straight after conceding a try. It's not all about the goal-line defence, but this needs to be better too.

I would agree in the main but i still think we look vulnerable on our own line when being asked to defend for any period and Cas made so many uncharacteristic errors yesterday at crucial times to keep the pressure off us particularly in the first hour. Good teams in good form simply won't do that.
Better signs though and the win alone and the manor of how we got it means plenty to be positive about.we need to back that up now next week and keep raising the bar, that's the challenge now.

| Thought Hurrell caught out of position a few times in defence. We looked half asleep on our own line at times. The sheer bloodymindedness not to concede just isn't there..

| I think prevention is better than cure, and we’re still inviting sides up to our try line with alarming generosity.
Crucial brain farts at key, momentum-changing moments in midfield are killing us, and then we look very vulnerable when we lose the possession battle.
It is what it is. We are going to continue to be frustrating to watch until we get the +4 quality signings we need and the younger lads get more experience.
When we run out of puff and subs we look very ordinary.
I want to see Tui back in the side and performing well; he is pretty good going forward. Furner alluded to shoring up the defensive structures on the edges, which do look to have improved; perhaps he wants to reintroduce Tui once the system is better set so he isn’t so exposed in D.
