| Quote: RHINO-MARK "Just out of interest what makes you against constructive criticism or questioning of recruitment performances selection etc?
Do you genuinely think we shouldn't question any of the above at all because of past glories?
Also what you & Dyl etc are overlooking imo is the blatant lack of a McGuire Sinfield JP Burrow and the obvious ageing/injuries and long minutes catching up with Jjb Delaney Ablett etc.
Now even with a fully fit squad we lack genuine quality that imo is beyond dispute and there's plenty of evidence from previous success' where GH has proved to be ruthless & calculated wrt release ,retention and recruitment personally I prefer that approach.'"
I’ve got no problem in criticising the recruitment, players snd the coach but when its just the same old posters posting the same old stuff each year it just seems A bit pointless.
You mention Peacock, McGuire, Sinfield etc, these are players that according to some on here were past it in 2011 and the whole side should gave been moved on... 4 years later look what happened

To play our "style" of off the cuff quick ruck type RL certain players need to be in your team.
We haven't had that all year so i ask where is plan B?.
To see any sign of a plan or structure would be a positive.
Also i think giving Ward the Captaincy has back fired i was all for it btw but it seems to be weighing heavily on him.
Also Delaney is done how many more injuries before someone at the Club sees it?'"
A bit harsh on Ward, he did well to be even on the park for the 2nd half. I've no other suggestion for captain. To be fair we did finish after 80 minutes with 11 players on the field. No we were not good and a weak Huddersfield side did deserve the win. The league is done for us this year, hopefully we can stay in the top 8 and have 7 meaningless games to finish off. Our only hope is to throw everything we have at the semi and tbh I cant see us beating Warrington but never write off a Rhino

There's nothing new under the sun. Perhaps it will take a three decade period with an empty trophy cabinet for them to stop being so spoiled by success.

| For me its not about the trophies its about seeing elite athletes performing to something like elite standard - that simply isn't happening. Injuries are a fortunate distraction.

| Quote: christopher "As stated before Wigan coached by Maguire were awful to watch.
Do i enjoy watch Leeds coached by McDermott? Yes sometimes no othertimes what I thonk is boring is the same arguments posted time and time again about players been past it McDermott being clueless etc etc when time and again they prove people wrong.
Am I happy with our current campaign, no I was hoping for better, but you cannot simpy dismiss the amount of injuries we have had and how that has affected us, yes other teams have injuries snd may have coped better!
It was the same in 2016 when many posters would not accept that the training facility situation was affecting the performances when it ckearly was, these are not excuses they are reasons.
Sal you clearly cannot be objective about McDermott you have bagged him since he arrived along with the senior players who have proved you wrong many times.'"
As others have said little point arguing with you about McDermott, pot and kettle come mind when you suggest others cannot be objective about the coach - I think you actually believe he could walk on the surface of the River Aire. That is exactly what you want kill any argument that conflicts with your entrenched views.
2016 it was easy to use the Kirstall floods as an excuse - other clubs performed far better will even worse facilities than Leeds had to use. 2016 was also impacted by very poor decision making by the coach - something he has admitted to - playing injured players, shortening the pre-season chasing wins early doors!!

Your first paragraph shows that any discussion about McDermott is futile, I don’t want to kill any argument its just if its the same argument that you have been putting forward since McDemott has been head coach its all a bit pointless isn’t it you don’t want a debate at all.

Smith went because the players had lost respect - nothing to do with the spectators. Same happened to McClennan.

Do you still maintain the view that GH brought in McDermott who he (GH) knew was going to be rubbish to undermine Brian Maclennan?
And do you still think Jamie Peacock should have been pensioned off in 2011?

Save your breath/fingers mate. They killed this board years ago!

| Smith got stick in 06 because of his silly policy, which he admitted was wrong, of a small mobile pack. first half of 07 was awful too. JP said a few weeks back the they were awful and a players meeting which was very Frank, he almost came to blows with another player, sorted a lot of things out. McLennan was the right call to leave when he did. he was a master motivator not a top coach per se with regards to infield tactical stuff. you can only say things so many times.macdermott was the perfect fit. had a top class experienced squad and he simply guided them. I'm not being disparaging by this. he didn't over coach like wane does. he trusted them. perfect.
now, imo of course, it's time for a wane type coach. better still a Robinson quality coach. Brian's been fantastic bit it's time for a change again.

| Quote: christopher "Maguire brought a style of rugby to this country that was roundly criticised, wigan were a horrible team to watch under him and they still have some of that in them.
Tony Smith was a great coach whi got criticised. Onhere just like McDermott
Powell will become a great coach when he can actually coach a team to win something and his incessant whinging does him no favours'"
Wigan wernt boring to watch under maguire, they were actually the second top points scorers in the league in both of his seasons over here, they had some fantastic attacking structures which other teams struggled to cope with. The criticism of him was that he was a proponent of the wrestle when they were defending, He was the best in the league at it, and it resulted in the oppositions play the ball being snail paced. A lot of people didnt like it, but thats what good coaches do.
Powells worked wonders with the hand he was dealt when he arrived at cas, he's turned them from relegation fodder, into a top club. I consider him a very good coach.

I didn’t say boring i said horrible
Both him and Powell are good coaches (maguire more so) Powell needs to win one of the big games before he can be classed as great

| Maguire was innovative and a brilliant coach. he also coached thuggish tactics aimed at injuring players.they played an away game, not Leeds, and a member of staff told me they had a sheet on the wall documenting every opposition player, his recent I juries and operations.
brilliant? yes. but a scumbag too

Il take that response as a sign that your struggling to consructivly disagree with anything i said regarding maguire.
For me Powells a great coach now at super league level.
