Quote: Gotcha "Looked very good Golding. So did Moon, so did Segeyaro, so did Ward, and Cuthbertson had his best game of year. So much more pace and enthusiasm, rather than the boring trudging it up then running up your own backside, we have been producing all year. Couldn't say anyone had a bad game.

I notice the bickerer is obsessing about me again, ironic with his constant whines to Sal. But as usual he can't read properly, or has no idea of our usual line ups.'"

First of all, well done to Leeds today you deserved the win. However, If i was a Leeds fan i wouldn't read too much into tonight's game,or get too carried away. That was poor from Leigh tonight, but i'm not taking anything from Leeds.

Listen mate, if you had watched Leeds all season you would understand. We beat Salford the other week by a decent score but we were utterly woeful. Tonight we played well, certainly the best we have in last seven weeks. You were not at the races, but that was because of Leeds not because of Leigh.

Good performance from the boys tonight especially with half of squad out great performance from Chicko,Golding, Keinhorst, Ferres, Ward and Moon , don't think much of leigh as a super league side just dirty and full of pently machines tbh could see them going straight back down, on too next year now and get back where we belong. Quote: ThePrinter "Pleasantly surprised by how much they threw into the game. To prevent Dawson from scoring in the first half when it looked nailed on was as good to see as anything else tonight.

The middle guys in Singleton, Cuthbertson, JJB and Segeyaro all had good games especially given the feisty nature as it went on.

On that point I already feel sorry for whichever referee has to do Leigh vs Wigan games next year. Their discipline was woeful and not sure how it took so long for them to be on a team warning or get a sin binning.

Thought Golding was ok but quiet the first half, had his two moments in a purple patch spell in the 2nd half but still lightweight and really showed when he easily bounced off Dawson for Leigh's 2nd try.'"

How many fullbacks are quality defenders in SL though? We really were spoilt with Hardaker the last couple of years. Golding very much fits the mould for a SL fullback. Dangerous and elusive runner you put into space. I think with a good offseason he at least makes it a competition with Suttcliffe.

Agree on the middle unit it seems Cuthbo has finally got fit. Out of the youngsters Jordan Roberts looked the most physically ready IMO.

Hewer was bad, neither team helped, but he was just soft, take us striking at the scrum, if he penalises us the second time, we don't get to the fourth different reset scrum. Also the Touch judge who decided to intervene after Reni Matautia literally had a word in his ear needs sacking.

On a personal level I fear I have finally got old, was anyone else annoyed when we didn't kick off again till nearly quarter past 9? Don't know if it was sky or Leeds but it was a farce.

Well i'm sorry pal, but our discipline and mistakes were our own fault not because of Leeds. Yes you were the best team on the night for sure, but you are getting carried away. If you had played against a top SL side tonight you would be talking differently.

What was so different about our lineup apart from Moon at HB, which didn't go that well on previous occasions and a different FB who had a good 10 minute spell?

Thought the side had a good balance - apart from the bench which was pretty much all we had left. Smith and Hallas didn't get much time but probably not a bad call.

Decent first half that slowly gave way to biff and barge in the second. I think that's the best all around performance I've seen (however I don't see many games). Golding surprised me, was very brave - tough kid. Great effort for effectively a dead rubber at the end of a dismal season.
Still far too little actual rugby played, support of the player hitting the ball up was very average. There were times in the second half when we had Leigh massively outnumbered on our right but there was nobody to play the killer long ball over the top. That quality has to be brought into the club. It doesn't exist in the squad at the moment.

Leigh on the other hand froze completely. Faced with a determined, organised defence their discipline went out of the window and their attack looked very predictable. I've watched their televised games over the last few weeks and I can't remember Gareth Hock holding onto the ball once in the tackle. Surely he's one steamer going to be flushed during the off season?
I can see them surviving SL, can't see them not getting through the qualifiers, should they not make the 8, next year.

You will definitely need big improvements yourselves if you want to avoid the middle 8s again next year. Mark my word.

I don't know. I mean you must into account they were coming off a short turnaround, which were also but we're more use to that sort of turnaround whilst they're always usually playing weekends game.

The reason they're up in the first place is because they beat 3 SL teams. Key thing is discipline, they'll surely learn some lessons if they're getting pinged week after week after week. Sounds like they'll be a number of changes their squad before next season with SL players coming in. One or two that have been rumoured are Vea from Saints and Atkins from Wire.

I'm not sure if he is. I'm confident though that the new recruits Leigh attempt to bring in will be good enough to keep us in SL, but owt can happen.
