| Quote: Sal Paradise "No I didn't but what I was trying to illustrate is what happens in your scenario when it is the club that want rid of the player?'"
If that was the scenario, the smart thing for the player in question would be to perform to the best of his abilities in order to alert other clubs to what he has to offer.
Sulky, whining, can't be @rsed, offering folk outside, etc, wouldn't be doing yourself any favours. It's also a mindset which is difficult to overcome or address when the consequences meted out for such attitude and behaviour to date have been somewhat mollycoddlingly lenient.

No because the club are still paying his wages. The club wanted/are getting rid of Achurch but even if he has ill feeling towards the club I'd expect him to be putting in effort/performances if he does want another SL to sign him for next season.

And of course it depends on the manner of the future departure. If a player does it in the right way I don't think many clubs would refuse to play them and vice versa if a player is told in the right way that he's not wanted anymore.
I agree mostly with William on this that if a player doesn't want to play and is doing it in the wrong way then I don't care that much how good they are. I'd rather have, for instance, an eager and willing Keinhorst than a moody/unwilling Watkins (only used as examples, I have no idea if Watkins is or isn't involved in all this before anyone gets excited).
Of course I'd much rather have an eager and willing Watkins.
I get the point about quality of players and lack of them and I think we've seen that to an extent with Hardaker. There is a line and that line is somewhat flexible depending on the players worth to the team, but there is still a line all the same.

| I've been told from a very reliable source that Jordan went to see her Hetherington a few weeks ago to discuss his future.
Hetherington told him he was not doing enough to earn a place. Despite not being given the opportunity to do so.
He has offered to play in the 2nd row but being told he is not a 2nd rower. But then they are playing other props in the 2nd row.
It is clear Hetherington and McDermott have not forgiven him for going to New Zealand.
He might not be the only youngster leaving. I've heard sutcliffe is not happy with his contract and Leeds are not prepared to offer him a decent renewal.

To be honest I can understand baldwinson wanting to leave hasn't been given a crack. Sutty can go. He has been gash all year off field he has issues. If he was being sensible try playing well before grumbling about his contract, he isn't earning what he's getting at the moment let alone improved deal

Why did they sign him a few months ago then? Genuine question. Am I missing something here?

Obviously signed him back in spite to deliberately mess with him
Irony is he probably would've been playing today ahead of Sam Hallas if he hadn't asked for a release.

| When you say play, do you mean sit on the bench for 80 minutes.
With regards to why did they sign him?
Great question. Only them two know. It certainly wasn't to play.
Fev have done alright out of it though.

You mean like Lilley, Singleton, Walters etc. Had to do but bided their time. Sometimes some players and their fans have to stop looking at excuses and ask questions of the player.

| He made his debut 3 years ago. Went away for a season, came back. Went to Fev got championship young player of the year. Been back to Fev, sat on the bench for Leeds without getting on the pitch.
Still can't get a game! It's certainly not a matter of attitude!
And that's a lot more than any of the above mentioned youngsters.
Luke briscoe and Mitch achurch getting a game before him!
I hope he leaves and goes onto have a great career.

A utility back and a second row, getting picked on the wing and at second row ahead of a prop?
Radical stuff. You're not actually Paul Reilly are you? Always thought he took one too many knocks to the head.

| If players like Achurch weren't getting a game then Baldwinson wouldn't have a case but when Achurch consistently gets picked whilst turning in "performances" like he does tells Baldwinson all he needs to know.

Do you just like to be devil's advocate? For the sake of it?
Baldwinson has stated he would play 2nd row (I believe)...are you suggesting he would not have been worth a shot instead of selecting Achurch there?

| It tells you that the coach is happy to play a soft cock rather than a player who at least would be fully committed.
