Agreed!! Rain or not, they're "professional" footballers!
Kinda puts England RL been hammered by Oz into perspective! At least we were hammered by better professionals than us!
Also... it wasn't quite as embarrassing as hearing the Leeds Fans chanting "ITV is fcking sht" down the commentators mics!
Made us look like a city full of scratters. |

I agree!! I was flicking between the Leeds match and the Utd/City derby. And the quality of broadcast was MILES apart. I mean, MILES!!
Still doesn't make Leeds look very good though does it! I hate hearing our accent on TV! |

I hear that you couldn't see the game because of the rain on the camera? FFS that's basics, surely the cameraman / editor can see the rain like everyone else, it only takes 2 seconds to give the lens a wipe.  |

I thought the ITV chant would have been funny if I'd have been at the game but it was quite embarrasing that you knew it was our fans on tv singing it. Was in the paper that ITV have apologised for it!

No it was 2 separate issues... (I realise it reads confusing now I've read it again!)
1) I didn't like the swearing, and it was clear that it was Leeds Fans which makes us as a city look like a bunch of hooligans.
2) I cringe when I hear the Leeds accent on TV (gameshows, interviews etc). I also have a strong Leeds accent, and don't think there's anything wrong with it! I just always cringe that's all. (As you do when you hear/see yourself and think "Do I sound like that??"icon_wink.gif |
