Hetherington was the best in the business at doing that for decades. Sinfield was supposed to be learning from him.

| Quote bdrhino="bdrhino"I'd definitely keep martin. Partly because he's a genuinely good kicker but also because, whilst he certainly doesn't rip up trees, he's a good, solid and experienced player in a position that whilst we have the quantity im yet to be convinced on the quality.
Never saw the point in signing king.'"
King Vuniyayawa was signed to play prop, he’s not comparable to Martin, who by the way think we should certainly keep.

| We say GH is a maestro but the club massively lost it's way in the back end of the Golden era. We made a series of terrible signings over years and got way too complacent.
I have a huge respect for GH, I really do. But whether it was him, Brian Mac or a combination, we lost the plot for a while back there.
One of the main, simple reasons Saints have been significantly better than us that that they have consistently signed better than us.
I would like to think we will re-focus on a real prop here. We should have the quota and the cash to bring in someone decent - Ava+ mould.

| I don't think you can overstate how much pressure was on the club to secure the funding for the stadium and get it built. The squad was definitely but on the back burner for a few years. Now that's done, we can concentrate on renovating the infrastructure with the club.

I am a GH fan don't get me wrong - and I love the way the club has come out and attacked the post-COVID world with positive signings and investment.
Let's just pray that next year is just about COVID-free and we can get back to full normal for the whole season again.

I thought I read somewhere he'd been brought in as a 'middle' but I could be wrong. I don't really think you can compare the two players which is why I didn't.i was just responding to the post above mine. I'd keep martin but I'm not bothered about king.

| Good luck to King he was brought in as a cheap gamble, hes not let us down and been good around the club. If he wants and can get more game time at Salford i dont blame him at all.

| I still wouldn’t be surprised if Martin left too. I think several other clubs in SL would look at him and I’d imagine again we signed him on chunky money originally.
Overall the club is getting this right; if we believe in the youth then we need to promote youth. I think the club is looking for quality now in senior signings rather than just able bodies.

I've posted loads of times i really don't see the point in retaining Martin. We need more front rowers not back rowers.

| It's not the end of the world King going. He's done decent as a squad player, but not a world beater. The issue is a replacement. The market is definitely short of decent props, so we need to be savvy in bringing someone in.
I'd like to see a genuine impact prop come in. Mik, Prior and Zane call do big minutes, so we don't really need someone in the same role. Someone who will come and be a wrecking ball for 20-25 mins a match would be ideal!
