| Quote: Fat Boy "What the Ozzies saw was International player of the year and unquestionable the best full back in the game today hit Hall at full tilt only to pop his shoulder out, meanwhile Hall took the hit, grounded the ball in the most impossible of situations and got up as if untouched.
This would have the most patriotic of antipodeans thinking about adding him to the squad.
Don't be surprised if one or two NRL clubs come a-knocking anytime soon.'"
To be fair to Slater 9 times out of 10 he stops the try there. It just goes to show what a finish it was, one of the best I've ever seen. He's one of the best 3 or 4 wingers in the world and the best in SL by a mile.

| Jack Reed has scored trys in all his 3 England matches, let's hope he continues tomorrow.
Incidently they were saying on the radio that the partnership between Reed and Ryan Hall could develop into one of the best that Gt Britain/England has had in recent years. It's a shame he's under contract at the Broncos as we could benefit as well (but still keeping BJB and Hardaker in the team)!

Whilst I agree I also feel that the current crop of SL wingers are not that good.
Hall does always manage to score his fair share of trys usually down to good centre play or by being on the end of a cut out pass 10 metres from the line.
I personally like to see wingers take the defence on the outside and "skin" the fullback.
Something I rarely see with Hall who looks to come inside more often than not.
Maybe it is just me as there is no way I would want Hall facing Leeds.
But as for the best in SL. Yes probably but the competition is not that cracking IMO.

| Some wingers will go outside because they are speedsters. They have that burst of acceleration which can take them past their opposite numbers, The risk of this is that they go in to touch. Others take the more difficult route and cut inside, its harder to beat the man and has less space to run in to if they do break the tackle.
Personally I would take Halls work rate, metres and speed of the PTB over someone like BJB who may beat a man on the outside a few times a year, but end up in touch a couple of those.

There's room for both types of winger....Hall has great finishing prowess with men to run through but will never be able to finish like Donald [iwithout[/i men to run through.
The contrasting styles of the equally brilliant Alan Smith and John Atkinson epitomised that.

You are right 2 absolute brilliant wingers and maybe not too disimilar to BJB and Hall. Although Atkinson and Smith for me every time.
I was actually friendly with John so maybe I am biased and yes I am name dropping

Heard that Wigan were interested in Reed. However, somebody pointed out earlier that he has a 2 yr contract with the Broncos. Another two years playing in the NRL and he should be the finished article.

I'd be amazed if we're not interested as well and the Rhinos have lots of room under the salary cap and he's playing alongside Hall. It's the problem of the Broncos letting him go and also whether Reed wants to leave the NRL

| Rather see how his partnership with Hardaker develops, but yes he'd be a top signing for any team.

| I doubt Reed will want to leave the NRL any time soon. Financially he'll be at least as well off staying put.
What he has shown is the value of a centre who has the ability and composure to decide when to use his winger. This is a huge contrast to so many centres selected for England/GB recently, where the defence only had to cover the centre, as passing to the wing would almost be the last option. I still don't understand how Sl can produce so many centres who have absolutely no idea how to set up their winger.
