| Please Please Please do not drop him before coming down't lane!! we have a special OAP parking for him and i'm sure he will be embarrassed by our athletic backline!
on a serious note though, its sad to see Senior this year, he was best retiring maybe 2 years ago, last year for sure. if he was a race horse he would have been put out for stud long ago!!

Think he was showing signs of decline last year but he still could hold his own. This year from form we have seen is a season too far. Hopefully he can come back have a stormer this year and end on a high, but if I am honest I just cant see it.

| And yet Senior still remains one of the two best centres available to Leeds at present when you take into consideration the state of Delaney's ankle, Smith's hamstring and Jones-Bishop's shoulder.
If and when they can get themselves available then there might be some point to this wailing and gnashing of teeth but for now the options appear fairly limited.

TBH I dont think that even when everyone is back that there is any chance Senior will be dropped. Will be interesting after BMD "soft" comment to see if he actually makes any changes.

| Mac needs to make a stand with the awful decision making on silly passing. If Smith hadn't have been struggling with his leg, I'd have dragged Senior off straight after his awful pass and would have sat him on the subs bench. A bit of shame and reality is needed me thinks.

I'm sorry but Saturday's performance - and many others this season - patently underlined the fact that he isn't .
I don't care if they put a youngster in at centre, continue with Ablett, shift Clarkson to centre (he played there at Wigan last year), get someone in on loan (even from the Championship - Menzie Yere at Sheffield ?) or whatever....
Senior needs to be dropped if only to hammer out the fact that he is not doing it and reputation alone doesn't count. Ablett has looked the better centre in the past two and a half games.

At the very least he should be shifted to the right to allow Watkins time to develop into the left centre role he is destined for. Admittedly Watkins has looked more comfortable on the right wing but this is the season we should give him every opportunity to grow into the role. If it doesn't work out ...then we can shift him to the right wing for 2012....AND sign another Delaney for centre .

Senior is still one of the two best centres at the club given the current injuries to Delaney, Smith and Jones-Bishop.

I don't watch the lower grades so have no idea what if any options are open to the club beneath the current 1st grade squad. Could any replace Senior?
By dropping Senior are you suggesting a centre pairing of Clarkson and Ablett given the other injuries. Won't that leave the forward panel in a bit of strife?
Menzie Yere? Further increasing Leeds' reliance on 'overseas trained' to eight. Another straight off the production line.

It won't happen no matter how much you may wish it. Senior has played every minute of the Leeds campaign so far hasn't he?

So what ?
I know you like your stats so I'll give you some - 1 try in all those 720 minutes.
Just 2 initial breaks (according to Opta who I also know you're fond of) and 0 supported breaks.
He has played 384 of the 410 weekly rounds in SL for Sheffield and Leeds and the guy has shown amazing durability for fifteen years and more.
It gives me no pleasure to call for his axeing but he is simply not contributing. A sad case of a good player going on a year too long and a coach selecting his team on past reputation, not form.
How will we know whether there is anyone in the reserve team worthy of a chance if we don't give them one when a man is SO badly out of form ?

The first part of this statement may be true but the second is unfair on the coach. Senior hasn't been good this season and I am as disappointed with his performances as anyone but tvoc is right - at present Senior should play because there isn't a better alternative at present. Delaney should play on Friday but I expect Watkins will be needed on the wing with no Jones-Bishop, Hardaker and, presumably, Smith. Picking Senior up to now and again on Friday is the coach picking the best options available.

| From this and other threads the general consensus (including my own) on Senior seems to be that he has been a fantastic player and one of the best centres that we’re likely to have in blue & amber (past tense) but he’s one season past his best and time his boots stayed in the boot bag.

A player that is consistently available is a valuable resource to a coach struggling to select from a depleted back division.

I'm also fond of the left winger scoring tries (7), some directly from the centre's contribution.
Senior - On average per match
As I said previously, I don't watch the lower grades and therefore have no idea who is pushing Senior out of the way.
You've gone further elsewhere saying there's no-one coming through.
If Senior is to be replaced then by who? Coady?

| IF Smithy is fit i'd seriously look at geting Watkins on the left with Hall and having either Ablett/Delaney or even young Aston Wilson who's doing well in the u20's there with Smithy on the wing and with everyone fit my back line would be...
Webb ,Hall ,Watkins ,Smith ,Bjb. You could even swop Bjb and Smithy around or bring in Hardaker on the wing with Bjb likely to be out much longer.

Entirely agree.... You could have all six playing by having one of Smith, BJB or Hardaker playing FB and Wilson on the bench.
Senior into the second row for me alongside Delaney.
Webb at halfback with McGuire..... Burrow to subs bench if Wilson not fit...or to Subway to buy the sandwiches
