If we're talking "favourite", for me it would have to be our Captain incumbent... Kevin Sinfield.
The man is everything a rugby player should be, both on and off the field.
Off the field he's professional to the hilt, leads by example and will go that extra mile for the club.
On it, he's one of the best passer of the ball the game has seen (an under-rated skill IMO), kicking game to beat any team (on his day), a "Rugby Brain" which has to go down in the top 20 of all time, goal kicking stats over 80% for as long as I can remember (not to mention goal kicking under pressure), and as a Captain and leader of men we couldn't wish for better.
Some memorable "Sinnie" moments would include (and I have the worlds worst memory so these are all pretty recent)...
1) The try saving, and ultimately Grand Final winning, tackle on Kyle Eastmond.
2) The countless sideline conversions (most notably Warrington at Headingley!)
3) Drop Goal Hero (45 metre effort at Warrington this year was a classic)
4) The "Sinfield" restart (10m Grubber from the tee)
5) The pass that sent Donald down the wing, for Scott to then chip it back to McGuire for an under the sticks length of the field try at Headingley. Huge part of that move coming off!
6) The try against Bradford with the spin that left the defence wondering what the hell had happened.
7) The opening try against Wigan just gone. At the time (meaning before we went on to lose the game) that was an awesome effort. Practically everybody in the ground (including Wigan defence) would've put money on him sending Ryan over. He'd effectively worked all season long to be in a position where Wigan were convinced he'd pass.
8[i)[/i The pin point chip at Odsal for McGuire's diving catch and try.
I could go on and on picking out "moments" but moments of brilliance aside, the man is just everything to our club. I'm the same age as Kevin so I've literally grown up watching him. He is certainly my generations "John Holmes" and I hope that when one day the time comes and Kevin goes, the kids of the future appreciate just how much the man has done (and hopefully will continue to do) for our club.
My favourite player of all time by a mile.
