| I completely agree with everything in the Times article, and could hardly have said it better.
Sunday afternoons are superior for a lot of reasons. Presumably the Rhinos think they can make more at the bar and from corporate packages on Friday night, but it's a bad deal for families and away support and pretty shortsighted regarding the future of the game.

| Can understand the arguments in favour of both Fridays and Sundays.
Personally I would prefer Sundays in the 'winter months' of Feb to april and September and Fridays in summer. The Times article talks about getting kids to play, well that should be play any sport and in my view there is more to play for a youngster on a summer Sunday afternoon eg cricket and I would prefer my lad to be playing any sport than watching.

| I prefer Fridays if i'm honest. Couple of beers before & after the game.
I dont like Sunday games, dont know why, probably because they aren't the norm. Think we should throw a few more Saturday games in at HQ though.

| Friday nights are better, kicks the weekend with a bang. Few pints up Headingley, watch the game then go out afterwards, no better way to start the weekend. Yesterday felt like a cup game to me was a bit strange.

| Don't frequent Headingley much now, but 20 odd of us had season tickets in the main stand for years. but when games started getting moved around everyone lost intrest, considering sky call the shots Leeds would play the majority of games Friday anyway so I suppose they should play the remainder on friday so everyone knows where they stand.

| Friday is the right night for the club as it's Sky that effectively call the shots.
Why invite disruption when you can guarantee several home matches a season will be moved for televising.

What's the win ratio for each day each year?

| As has been said, Friday is the day (or more accurately evening) due to the Sky schedules.
I agree with the poster above who prefers Sunday for early season games but I don't prefer that for the games in September or October when the evenings are milder.
I hate Saturday night games because it plays havoc with my dining arrangements as it cocks up both lunch & dinner.
There are travel difficulties with Friday night games due to the M62 which I think reduces the away support for teams from Lancashire & vice versa when we have to travel.

| Fridays are the corporate cash cow. Losing a few hundred off the gate that might (and it's only a might) turn up on a Saturday or Sunday simply isn't worth changing for.

That wouldn't be a problem to get to but the table would look a bit messy so I'm giving it a miss for now.

But why does the corporate cash cow, as you put it, seem to operate on Sundays & occasionally Saturdays for the RU side of the operation?
The corporate area seemed pretty full yesterday from my seat in the Carnegie.

Totally agree with you there
It also gives people the chance to get to the game, as it can be a bit of rush on a Friday night when finishing work .

Was this game always scheduled for the Sunday?
It used to be when games were moved for television coverage that Gary Hetherington would kick off re the corporate planning side of the business.
Unfortunately the days when your average (non corporate) Leeds fan were valued (and listened to) have long gone.
That said I prefer Friday night rugby anyway, when I can get there, leaving the summer weekends free for other noisier pursuits.
