| Given Harry's come back and then pulled up again I wouldn't be surprised if he's looking at a couple of moths to get it right unfortunately. Even when jenna Brooks said dead leg last night I thought, I don't think so.

| Quote: christopher "I'm not buying the Newman 'dead leg' story
Watching the game back last night he seemed to pull up before Fifita hit him and could clearly be seen to mouth 'hammy gone' when on the bench, hope Im wrong because I thought he was a class above whilst he was on.
Mixed bag for Fusitua, he took his try well and ran hard but seemed to have few lapses in concentration in defence and his shoulder charge was just silly, to be fair to him it will take him a while to get back up to speed I think.
Was really nice to see Walker back to something like.
Mik was outstanding.
As Ive eluded to before, I really can't wait for some better weather, its no good for anyone, we have haven't played a game without wind, rain or snow yet.
I think Sezer and Austin will start to come good, I like the mix they have, that bomb that wakes dropped was a belter.'"
Looks very rusty. He will get there though.. there's glimpses.
Newman injury could be a huge blow, we're pretty toothless out wide without him i'm afraid. Sutcliffe, Briscoe don't have the same xfactor.

| Strange feeling after the win as I`m well disappointed we didn`t put 50 on them last night.
30 - 0 away from home and we should have put them to the sword.
Full credit to Wakefield but that second half was nowhere near good enough.
Thought the pack played well first half especially Oledezki and Gannon.
Fusitua 50/50 scored a decent try but bombed the one that they scored off.
He also seems a lot slower than I thought he would be.
Handley did well for his 3 but wasn`t up against anyone decent.
Walker was my MoM .
Newman might need an op on that hamstring if it keeps going like that which is a worry.
I was saying to my mate last night they should take Leeming off and 10 seconds later he gets binned.

I know, i was just giving my two penneth worth. I didnt see a problem with it but who knows with the current disciplinary set up.

| If Newman has re-injured hammy then it's a massive blow for us & him and he needs to get it 100% right before making any sort of come back. I think we can still have strike out wide without him though but Agar has to give people chances I think Fusitu'a will be a real good signing once hes got a few games under his belt he missed most of pre season & then been out with concussion protocol so he will be rusty for a few more weeks.I'd love too see this if Newman has a spell on sidelines again
2. Fusitu'a
3. Broadbent
17. Briscoe (as back up incase of injury)
Or we could even possibly see
2. Tindall
3. Fusitu'a
17. Broadbent/ Briscoe ( cover for injuries)
For me I'd be leaning towards that second option Tindall & Fusitu'a on right side would have plenty of strike as season goes on.

| I Get the thinking behind calls for changing the line up in the backs and giving Broadbent a go but for me He and others need to force their way in by performance.
I’m not sold on Agar but think he has to build partnerships and get some consistency and better team play through the season. Only Sutcliffe and Handley have ever played much together.
So for me Walker and Myler battle it out for FB. And then we stick to squad numbers 2-7 when fit and keep those players in those positions whenever possible.
So If Newman out, Briscoe comes in and we keep all the others where they are.

What more do you want Broadbent to do exactly?

Rip it up in the reserves and training, play much better than Briscoe and he will get in

| Well Briscoe hasn't exactly set the bar high and surely it works both ways with him playing well enough to keep his place.

Exactly, it's hard to know what more he can do.

| Agree Briscoe at centre is not Gene Miles so Broadbent if good enough and defending well enough he should be able to force his way in as this season rolls on.

| Briscoe is not a centre and is at the tail end of his career. Broadbent is a centre and potentially has a long career ahead of him. I don't see any rationale for picking Briscoe ahead of Broadbent other than Briscoe showing great from in the centres, which he hasn't.

| I find it frustrating, and it's not that I've seen a huge amount of Broadbent. However it's plain as day that Briscoe is a square peg in a round hole.
My only thought would be that he struggled with the physically of first team, and struggled defensively. Briscoe whilst having limited impact in attack, is pretty solid defending

Yep. Pretty sure Agar has praised his metres carrying out from deep too. Not really what I'd be looking at closely from a centre but the kind of metric that some coaches seem to like. Possibly rightly, who knows?
