| Having seen the albeit short highlights i think we scored some quality trys but how Child allowed their 2nd is more ridiculous than Suttys v Salford.
Like i said earlier though fair play to all involved on/off the pitch for bouncing back & doing it convincingely.
Wrt to Mc.D talking about our attacking style that's all well & good but against better defences i think we need at least s couple of "structured set moves" because they will easily contain Parcell & Cuthbo.
Hopefully we kick on but still a long way to go.
Overall wrt SL Cas & Wigan still look eay above everyone else imo.
Id also expect Wire to dish out a few hidings so i certainly wont write off their top 4 challange just yet.

| Quote: ThePrinter "McDermott's comments after the game kind of points to what I was saying about the attack a few weeks ago, in that we'll be trying to achieve a certain style and not the constant calls for structure on here, but isn't easy to execute.
"I've been the biggest critic of the offence this year and tonight it started to click. We don't go by the repetitive attack that you see in some teams which gets success but bores you to tears to watch.
"Our philosophy to attack is a bit more free, for want of a better phrase. Sometimes it goes wrong but you've got to get used to it and have some correction, but tonight it was a example of how it works, how it's a decent system."'"
Im not sure I buy that, Cas have some structure when attacking the opponents line as did we under Smith and McClenan, we need the right balance.
Maybe 'structure' is the wrong word, but we definitely need better shape so the creative players have options to play off.

| We looked deep in attack and gave our dangerous backs space to work with, something we have not done well in some time. Unfortunately I wasn't at the game, how did we look in defence? And most importantly have we improved at the last tackle?

Not too bad in defence last night but Catalans didn't carry half the threat Cas did last week.

| Costly night for Catalans
Greg Bird out for 6-8 weeks with a broken thumb
Jodie Broughton out for 4-6 months with a torn bicep

| Wow bad injuries. really rate Bird, would have liked him at Leeds for 1-2 years to help the transition, one of the best players of the last 10-15 years, just a shame he's made some really bad decisions off the field.
What's the estimated return dates of our injured lot.

Very much so.
I thought pre season that they would struggle to even make the 8 this year.Bird was always going to be the key and losing him for any length of time is a huge blow to them. They won't find it easy picking up points for the next couple of months.

From his press conference earlier in the week it sounds like Ward and JJB are probably going to miss next week although the latter has a chance of making it. Ferres he just said is "close" but I would imagine they'll do the same as Delaney and send him to Fev for a game. Galloway you're looking at a month away at least still. No mention on Garbutt.
McDermott said the likes of Ward and JJB could've played vs Catalans if they strapped them up and injected them etc. but he isn't prepared to do that with players anymore because they'll end up losing them for longer periods. Especially after what happened last week then would've been tempting for him to throw them back in so does look like he's learning from previous mistakes with injured players even if it means we have a weaker looking lineup/bench.

That's sound imo can't ask for anymore than that.

| Agree mate, plus it give Baldwinson etc more experience. Think we've got a decent pack when everybody is fit. Do you reckon they'll keep Moony in the halves over the next few games?

| Credit where due, really responded well in both performance and effort.
Cuthbertson as pseudo stand off, sutclife, moon and keinhorst chopping and changing to great effect.
Perhaps we are developing a RL version of Ajax of 70's total football.
Singleton produced a Ray Price style blast from the past and rattled Bird's cage. It changed the game. I suspect that led Child to try and balance the books with the sin bins and penalties that followed in first half

| Unfortunately had to miss this one as I had friends visiting but it sounds like exactly the kind of response needed after the horror show at Cas. Credit to McDermott and the team for such an emphatic win.
Would anyone mind discussing the stand out players? I've heard some good things about Cuthbertson.

| Looks like Singleton might be missing a few games through suspension.
