| Thought Watkins had a real good dig tonight to be fair, but he doesn’t look half the player going forward he used to. Hope he plays back into form, he’s a good lad.
We are just spending far too much time in D. Pinged a couple of times for scrappiness in the ruck.
Though Kasiano changed the game in his spells, just that injection of quality we’re struggling for.

Tonight wasn’t a bad loss though (aside from purely points-wise of course). The performances at Wigan and Saints were credible and of course Salford away.
If we keep turning up like that and Furner can find his best possible selection - and they are “if’s“ - we will win some fixtures like that one tonight and start climbing.
I still think we may need another signing this year though.

| We've gone back to the ridiculous tactic of kicking for a scrum on the 6th tackle in the opponents half. We did it in the first half when we had the momentum. Said momentum was immediately surrended and they scored in their next possession.
I had enough of this appalling tactic last season. F'N STOP IT!!

Agree, we need to move bigger sides around not give them pressure release and a nice shot-clock breather.
Which, by the way, is slowing the game down at scrums.

The last time Myler kept doing this at Headingley last season we were in front. We lost.
Awful tactic at the start of a game. Its last 10 minutes stuff when youre well on top.

It’s a fact though tad. And I think some should take this in a bit more context to their posts. We are not as bad as last year.

Agreed Gotcho. There is definitely something to build on. We’re about half way through a complete restructure and until we change more players I’m afraid we’ll see familiar problems.

| Is Lineham available as hes not getting a game at Wire?
Kasiano is just the type of forward we needed.
Kicking for touch instead of attacking in the first half was totally the wrong tactic.
Yes we were better than we were against London but Catalan had half their pack missing and we still lost.

| Can't fault the effort, but it's absolutely excruciating to watch.
Frustratingly the referee was kidded at least a couple of times in crucial moments by Catalans with 'hands in' at the PTB - Hurrell and Oledski incidents stick in the mind. When Leeds try this stuff it's always blatant and we get done by the referee. We can't blame the ref but a bit of luck wouldn't go amiss once in a while. Why can't we score fluky last-minute London-esque tries? I suppose the Handley one was a bit of a gift...
Discipline was poor - this is what cost us the game IMO. Ferres was obviously the worst culprit. A major contributor in the game being levelled at HT as well as other incidents.
Why on earth can't Leeds mark man for man on the right edge? Fair enough it can be difficult if an overlap is worked but Briscoe really should have had Yaha closer in his sights.
Individual performances. Decent efforts from Handley, Hurrell, Myler and Sutcliffe in the backs. Sutcliffe looking the part until we actually needed some leadership in the last 10 - maybe I'm expecting too much there though. The forwards as a whole pretty good apart from Ferres. JJB starting to look like Walters on a couple of occasions scrambling back, and neither him nor Singleton seem to offer any punch any more. We need more than 'able bodies' like this in more than a few positions.
Going forward we need more options other than Hurrell and a half-fit Watkins to make things happen, although Dwyer looked good in the first half. The halves aren't offering enough threat with ball in hand - someone like Joel Moon could make a huge difference near the opposition line even though he wasn't a proper stand-off... I'd love to see McClelland rip Cas to shreds next week - it would surely make a welcome change from seeing the likes of Gale, McShane and others come back to haunt us. Otherwise we need a quality new signing who can really make a difference - but this boat looks like it has sailed for the time being.

Rumour is Lineham as signed for Cas next season.

| Well that wouldn't surprise me.
We have missed out on so many players such as Austin, Greenwood, Kasiano and now Lineham who is better than both of our wingers.
We might have a golden age coming through but we need 7 or 8 established class players to help them develop.
Those 4 alongside Merrin and Hurrel and even Crosby and Peteru would have done nicely.
Add in Walker, Watkins, Dwyer, Ward and even Handley with some of the young guns like Oledzki, Smith, Johnson, Dupree, Trout, Holroyd Muzzi and Walters and we have cracked it.

| Are Leeds really missing out on these players? [In which case, what is going on, have they got Theresa May in charge of the negotiations?] Or are we just not interested in the right people?
